We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is a well-engineered product from an IT perspective.""I like Primavera's planning capabilities.""The ability to streamline the process of obtaining signatures from our contractors is valuable.""The solution's tech support is good.""The most valuable feature of Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is accuracy."

"I love the collaborative nature just from my role to help. I'm a strategist. I help manage those large strategic projects. Implementation is one significant piece of my role, but I love the collaboration that can exist within the tool.""It simplifies the management of our day-to-day work and brings all our processes into a single place where we can plan our activities, monitor them, and take any actions accordingly.""Planview Projectplace is a really good solution for document sharing and keeping track of the history of changes in the document. I also like that you can have everything you need for a project in one place, for example, for documentation, planning, and even resource planning.""Right from the initial steps, we found this product easy to use.""Clarizen's slide publisher is one of my favorite features.""It is a complete solution. It is very useful for the management of our internal processes.""The workspace ease, navigation, and portfolios are the most valuable aspects of this solution. I just got access to the portfolios from my upper management, so I'm able to look at our specific SRE portfolio to see what's a priority, look at how many hours we've tracked, and things like that. I'm not so much included in the budgeting but it's important to see what projects are higher priority and so forth.""Projectplace absolutely supports collaboration in real-time. It's probably one of the best tools out there for collaboration. It affects the project's progress quite a bit. I have started two very similar projects in two separate business units, on very similar teams. I did one with Enterprise One, I did one with Projectplace just to see how the mileage would vary. The one with Projectplace had a very short cycle time so we were able to finish the project earlier. The one with Enterprise One was less engaging and it took a little more time. Because we were tracking the tasks inside the schedule it was not on the cards."

Cons
"The solution's user interface is an area with shortcomings that need improvement.""The scalability has room for improvement.""Primavera could be better integrated with other products, and it needs more cost management features.""The reporting could improve project management. We need multiple source reports. If someone is new to the support it has a steep learning curve.""They should work on integrating the solution with ERP."

"The reporting end of it needs improvement. There should be more reporting, more data at your fingertips. It should be easier and a little more user-friendly. I know there is some there, but it's just how do you get more meat on the bones, if you will, of what's available.""Planview is a resource management and project management system. Projectplace allows you to create boards and associate some of Planview's work breakdown structure as a top-level tree under which you can place cards, but there are many limitations because when you make a change in Planview, it is reflected in Projectplace. However, except for a few specific things, changes made in Projectplace are not ported back to Planview. At this point, they're two completely different products. The flaw is that there is very little integration between the two.""An area of improvement is customer support and services. Sometimes, the issue reported is not resolved within a specific timeframe, and the technical consultants who are approached for the requirement finalization can be better in terms of understanding the requirements. Sometimes, there is a gap in understanding the requirements. Other than that, the solution is fine.""They should also improve the interface. There are other competitors like Microsoft Project for the web, Wrike, Team Gantt who have a way better, modern user interface.""The time reporting is an excellent feature that they can show from an individual. The only problem I see is the description field. You can't increase that field, like to pull the column and widen the column that I've seen. I'm not seeing anywhere you could do that. Because you may have some of these cards that start with the same name and you only have so much real estate. There should be a way to adjust those columns somewhat so you can look at the description or hover over it and it tells you what the description is.""We'd like to see a heartier connection between Projectplace and Enterprise One. We know that's on their roadmap, but they haven't gotten there yet. Planview could also make better use of Projectplace's template capability.""It is not easy. The deployment of the application and its functionalities are not easy. It is a complex process to create accounts, names, and catalogs.""I believe that the graphs, reporting, and connection with the slides are areas that need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution is highly priced compared to one of its competitors."
  • "Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is an expensive solution. There is an upfront cost to purchase the solution and then there are annual fees to use the solution."
  • "The solution itself is cost-effective."
  • "My company has made an annual payment towards the costs of the solution. Price-wise, the solution is okay."
  • More Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I think the price of Projectplace is highly reasonable for the amount of functionality that you get. We have what they call a FLEX License. That means you get Projectplace, Enterprise One, and Leankits all on the same license. That's great because then you can use the other products without any additional cost."
  • "In my opinion, the pricing is reasonable."
  • "I believe it is a good value for money for the service they provide and the tailored program. When compared to Microsoft Project."
  • "The cost of this product is mid-range. It's not too expensive but not the cheapest on the market."
  • "Pricing might be a challenge because it costs around $29 to $30 per user a month. If you have a large user base, around 100 to 200 users, then it might be costly for an organization. For organizations who do not have a comprehensive overall budget, it might be a challenge."
  • "I would say the licensing maturity was probably a three out of five. They have a long way to go before they can scale out and retain enterprise customers."
  • "It can be expensive, but if you see the functionalities and the processes, it's not as expensive as other applications. We pay about 1 million Mexican Pesos per year for all 100 licenses."
  • "Its pricing plan should be improved. It could be expensive for midsize or small companies. There are no additional costs, but it would be great if you can negotiate or confirm the price during the requirement analysis phase."
