Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The full-service automation aspects and the process discovery are the most valuable features of Kryon RPA.""Kryon will allow you to automate processes fast and easy and you do not need to be a developer to automate processes.""The recording capability is valuable because of the amount of data it captures automatically. It's quite good. It means less development, and fewer configuration settings to fill in after you're done.""I like Kryon RPA's ability to use automated and manual processes with any bot.""The thing that we find the most value in is the Process Discovery component and the ability to really see what users are doing on a day-to-day basis. We're starting to make sense of the processes that they're doing and getting visibility into what they're doing. Overall, the Process Discovery is very good.""Kryon RPA is very stable - we've not had many disruptions, and the product is updated regularly.""Once I decide a process is suitable as a Kryon solution, the cycle of automation is quite quick. I learn about the manual process and I'm one of the two guys who program the Kryon environment. It's relatively simple. There are many details, but once you understand the concept it is quite easy.""The friendliness of the software is good because people without any technical background can start off on it. This solution makes it easy for us to use it, as there is no learning curve. With no learning curve, the development time turnaround decreases."

"The most valuable aspect for myself was access to the .net framework. If I couldn't figure something out using the objects that they had provided, I could bring in the .net objects and do so using similar logic that I would in a .net or C sharp coding language. Having that familiarity was helpful.""The low-code/no-code development aspect of the solution is great.""The tech support is highly available and there is plenty of online training available.""Its stability has been good.""The most valuable feature of Pega Robotic Process Automation is the technique: you can create a user interface that can interact with a human being for attended robots.""If you want to make any kind of base automation, you can easily code exactly what you want.""User-friendly, easy to understand and has many features including the ability to track.""We have a very large operational team and we are able to avoid mistakes and ensure accuracy and speed using Pega."

Cons
"Kryon RPA need to enhance the robustness of our multi-board architecture to ensure the availability of bots on multiple machines.""It would be better to have [upgrades] done automatically, like an application on your smartphone. Or even if done manually, the upgrade should just be "next, next, next," and it's upgraded, rather than making it a project to upgrade.""Extracting meaningful data requires significant effort. You need a dedicated business analyst who can understand the output.""The product requires some more time in development. It still has some bugs and some things to work out. They're constantly releasing. They need to continue working out the general issues of using the product at scale, first and foremost.""The only unstable part is Studio where you build this stuff. In our version, the 5.25. It has a memory leak. If you leave it open for too long, eventually it just freezes. Saving your work, closing, and opening it just once a day is all it takes. However, this is a bug that I have noticed about the stability of the actual tool.""With the customer support, there have been some times where we have had to go through explaining the issue a couple times because it has gone through a couple of people's hands. There have been a couple of scenarios where we have had to re-explain the issue and bring somebody new up to speed on what is going on or what the problem is.""We need stronger governance to know, when a transaction is done, whether it worked or failed; strong logging. That would be helpful.""Another major drawback is OCR. We are not able to read scanned documents correctly in a reliable way. There is always some margin of error. Some of the processes require us to read scanned documents, and you need to ensure that it is 100 percent accurate. Without that level of assurance, you can't automate such tasks."

More Kryon RPA Cons →

"The handwritten structured and semi-structured data recognition accuracy is much lower and is an area that definitely needs to improve.""I have faced many scenarios in the business workflow, where a few applications run on the Citrix environment. That could be a critical part of the process without which business won't be able to accept the automation solution. Because of one small bottleneck, you will lose a very good candidate for process automation.""I feel like it doesn't get updated frequently enough. There aren't a lot of new features or a clear roadmap for future improvements.""In this modern world, in this automation space, if Pega could provide more options that are user-friendly and provide a way to quickly develop an automation solution that is drag-and-drop with a minimal coding approach, then it would be great for automation.""I would like to improve the tool's integration features and stability.""The orchestration needs to be better.""Excel connectors need to be improved as there are a few connectors in Excel areas.""They have tied the deployment with the Pega BPM product, the robot manager. You need to have the BPM installed."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We have a yearly license. It's about $5,000 per year."
  • "For an unattended robot it's $6000 a month."
  • "In addition to the standard licensing costs, there are manpower costs."
  • "We've more than broken even over on the license. Year to date, we are at $120,000 in savings."
  • "Licensing costs are about $100,000 a year without any additional costs."
  • "We have been able to alleviate two FTEs, which was a big savings for us. We were able to reuse those resources in other locations. It is over 5000 hours a year in total savings."
  • "Can't beat the price... There are different pricing levels for every bot or unattended bot. You can buy however many you want. You'll need an additional virtual machine for it to work on."
  • "We're paying in the neighborhood of about $66,000 a year. The cost is fairly similar to its competitors' costs. It might have been a little bit more reasonable than the others, and that cost was with Process Discovery in addition."

  • "I was not involved in licensing and pricing, but it is worth the cost."
  • "Pega is pretty costly."
  • "Pega Robotic Process Automation is an expensive solution."
  • "In terms of Pega Robotic Process Automation pricing, I would rate it a five out of five because the solution has a good price. Pricing is not very high, though I'm unsure of the exact cost, based on my experience, the price for Pega Robotic Process Automation is less than Blue Prism because I worked with a few clients that have both solutions and my clients prefer Pega Robotic Process Automation over Blue Prism particularly because of the licensing costs."
  • "Pega is as competitive as the basic players such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere. UiPath is the most expensive, but Pega is at par with Automation Anywhere."
  • "I would rate the product's pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "The licensing cost is too high."

    Overview

Kryon RPA is a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient RPA (robotic process automation) solution that combines advanced IMR and OCR capabilities to record and execute processes on any application. The solution aims to provide organizations with quick deployment, reliability, and rapid response to change, and is suitable for companies of all sizes.

    Kryon RPA Features

Kryon RPA has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Credentials vault: Kryon RPA enables you to automate any login process without coding specific credentials into the automation scenario. Each robot can then access the target system with its own dedicated credentials when it is activated.
    • Immutable logs: Kryon RPA secures logs and provides full traceability into activities and robot history, making it easy to audit all mission-critical events and changes. In addition, by securing logs, Kryon RPA ensures that malicious-intended individuals cannot alter or change them.
    • Access controls: With roles and permissions, administrators can assign action-specific permissions to users or groups within the Kryon RPA platform.
    • Multi-tenancy: By implementing Kryon RPA, enterprises can host their RPA solution in the cloud and have the ability to also create separate, secure teams and environments.

    Kryon RPA Benefits

There are many benefits to implementing Kryon RPA. Some of the biggest advantages the solution offers include:

    • Total visibility: With Kryon RPA, you gain total visibility where it's needed most. The solution provides actionable intelligence for all the processes across your organization that are fit for automation.
    • Designed for business users: Kryon RPA has an intuitive visual interface, enabling users to record tasks quickly and to easily drag and drop process activities, so they do not have to rely on external resources or in-house developers.
    • Simple to use: Kryon RPA is designed to be intuitive. Interactive, and simple so anyone in the organization can easily deploy and manage Kryon robots.

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Kryon RPA solution.

PeerSpot user, Adam S., Manager, Application Support at a consumer goods company, says, “The bot is typically about twice as fast as a person and more accurate, as long as the data going in is good. That is the biggest advantage. I do like the feature if you find an opportunity that it is very simple to export the recording of that process and import it into Kryon Studio as a starting point to build that automation. It's a really good tool for our business process managers because they can take all that information to their constituents in their departments.”

Another PeerSpot reviewer, a Senior Systems Analyst RPA at a hospitality company, mentions, “We have relied heavily on the the data group base integration features, as well as the email and Exchange integration features. The ability to integrate with Office makes life a lot easier. The ability to integrate with a database is a big perk from a scalability standpoint.”

Guy B., Head of BI and Process Automation at a financial services firm, comments, “The screen capture allows us to interface with systems which don't have an API, or where the API is very expensive, and it allows us to do on-screen integration. The automation process is very user-friendly and the usability is very good. Developers are very satisfied with the system.”

With Pega Robotic Process Automation (RPA), organizations can automate the mundane, tedious, time-consuming, manual work that is hampering productivity and efficiency. Whether adjudicating claims, onboarding customers or employees, reconciling financials, updating customer information in systems record, Pega RPA can manage the work across your enterprise.
