We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution.""The solution is performance-oriented and easily customized accordingly to many areas, such as performance KPI.""Overall, our company has all disintegrated systems, and with Planisware, we are getting a very integrated view of my portfolio reporting, cost and load, and everything else.""There are two things in particular that I enjoy. The first is the portfolio planning section. Another advantage is that it is highly customizable.""It stands out by automating the intricate mechanics of project execution, eliminating the need for highly technical individuals to manage and reconfigure models.""We have a variety of different modules, but it is mainly used for costs, risks, and resources."

"Projectplace absolutely supports collaboration in real-time. It's probably one of the best tools out there for collaboration. It affects the project's progress quite a bit. I have started two very similar projects in two separate business units, on very similar teams. I did one with Enterprise One, I did one with Projectplace just to see how the mileage would vary. The one with Projectplace had a very short cycle time so we were able to finish the project earlier. The one with Enterprise One was less engaging and it took a little more time. Because we were tracking the tasks inside the schedule it was not on the cards.""It is a complete solution. It is very useful for the management of our internal processes.""Clarizen's slide publisher is one of my favorite features.""Projectplace has excellent collaboration features, including some nice kanban boards. We use DocuSign, and Planview just integrated it into Projectplace, so that was helpful. And I like the fact that it links to Enterprise One, the other Planview tool that we use to manage our capital portfolio.""The most useful features of Planview are its integration with resource management and the ability to commit and reserve various resources.""I love the collaborative nature just from my role to help. I'm a strategist. I help manage those large strategic projects. Implementation is one significant piece of my role, but I love the collaboration that can exist within the tool.""The overall user interface is fantastic. It has been very easy to learn and use. Any non-technical person with some initial training can work on it from day one, which is very good. The learning material is very good and easy to learn. There is no need to spend additional money on the training.""Planview Projectplace is a really good solution for document sharing and keeping track of the history of changes in the document. I also like that you can have everything you need for a project in one place, for example, for documentation, planning, and even resource planning."

Cons
"The solution's user experience and user interface need improvement because they are not that great and intuitive.""Its stability should be improved. Its stability is the main issue, but we sometimes also have issues with calculations.""They do not have anything that can assist customers with multi-year roadmap planning.""The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution.""More integration is needed with other kinds of products for better collaboration.""The learning curve is steep and there could be more avenues for opening up learning materials to a broader audience, enabling individuals to gain practical experience with the tool."

More Planisware Cons →

"It is not easy. The deployment of the application and its functionalities are not easy. It is a complex process to create accounts, names, and catalogs.""The reporting end of it needs improvement. There should be more reporting, more data at your fingertips. It should be easier and a little more user-friendly. I know there is some there, but it's just how do you get more meat on the bones, if you will, of what's available.""An area of improvement is customer support and services. Sometimes, the issue reported is not resolved within a specific timeframe, and the technical consultants who are approached for the requirement finalization can be better in terms of understanding the requirements. Sometimes, there is a gap in understanding the requirements. Other than that, the solution is fine.""The time reporting is an excellent feature that they can show from an individual. The only problem I see is the description field. You can't increase that field, like to pull the column and widen the column that I've seen. I'm not seeing anywhere you could do that. Because you may have some of these cards that start with the same name and you only have so much real estate. There should be a way to adjust those columns somewhat so you can look at the description or hover over it and it tells you what the description is.""Planview is a resource management and project management system. Projectplace allows you to create boards and associate some of Planview's work breakdown structure as a top-level tree under which you can place cards, but there are many limitations because when you make a change in Planview, it is reflected in Projectplace. However, except for a few specific things, changes made in Projectplace are not ported back to Planview. At this point, they're two completely different products. The flaw is that there is very little integration between the two.""We'd like to see a heartier connection between Projectplace and Enterprise One. We know that's on their roadmap, but they haven't gotten there yet. Planview could also make better use of Projectplace's template capability.""I believe that the graphs, reporting, and connection with the slides are areas that need improvement.""They should also improve the interface. There are other competitors like Microsoft Project for the web, Wrike, Team Gantt who have a way better, modern user interface."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution could be less expensive and the cost of scaling is expensive too."
  • "There are training and certification costs."
  • "The solution is expensive and support is an extra cost. There are three license types to choose from, and we only pay for support and cloud services depending on our needs."
  • "It comes with a high cost."
  • More Planisware Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I think the price of Projectplace is highly reasonable for the amount of functionality that you get. We have what they call a FLEX License. That means you get Projectplace, Enterprise One, and Leankits all on the same license. That's great because then you can use the other products without any additional cost."
  • "In my opinion, the pricing is reasonable."
  • "I believe it is a good value for money for the service they provide and the tailored program. When compared to Microsoft Project."
  • "The cost of this product is mid-range. It's not too expensive but not the cheapest on the market."
  • "Pricing might be a challenge because it costs around $29 to $30 per user a month. If you have a large user base, around 100 to 200 users, then it might be costly for an organization. For organizations who do not have a comprehensive overall budget, it might be a challenge."
  • "I would say the licensing maturity was probably a three out of five. They have a long way to go before they can scale out and retain enterprise customers."
  • "It can be expensive, but if you see the functionalities and the processes, it's not as expensive as other applications. We pay about 1 million Mexican Pesos per year for all 100 licenses."
  • "Its pricing plan should be improved. It could be expensive for midsize or small companies. There are no additional costs, but it would be great if you can negotiate or confirm the price during the requirement analysis phase."
