Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"From a technical perspective, this is an excellent product.""Great with replicating and updating records.""The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are the data manipulation to transformations.""Support has been great.""We use Qlik Replicate to change data capture of databases in production environments.""It's very user-friendly when it comes to settings and configuration. It also offers very detailed logging about warnings and errors.""Low-priced reporting and analytics solution, with good scalability and stability. It has on-premises and cloud versions that are cohesive and can integrate well.""A pretty good series of connectors is one of the best features of Qlik Replicate."

"The entire framework is something that is very easy to use, easy to set up, and extremely straightforward. Once you develop a process and once you get it deployed within the process engine, with the latest 6.52 features, the processing engine is actually smart enough to make a decision as to which process engine has less load, and it can exchange messages with that process engine.""If SEEBURGER plans to do something, they will meet their target. We haven't been disappointed by them at all. For example, we had six trading partners to onboard and they said, "We'll make it happen," and they did make it happen. They did exactly what they said they would do. That's a really positive thing.""We had a requirement for transferring data to Amazon S3 buckets but we did not have a solution in our shop for large data transfers to Amazon S3. We worked with SEEBURGER and created a framework solution and now, using that solution, we can configure the transfer in an hour or two and enable it to go to existing or new S3 buckets.""One of the most valuable features is the option to have all integration patterns constantly updated in one platform. That is the main strength I see in using SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS). It means I can use a very old-fashioned pattern, combined with a very modern pattern. There are no limitations in terms of combining components because all the components simply fit together.""What would have been a manual process of transmitting data items around between us and third-parties has been automated. SEEBURGER BIS handles the automation and mapping side of the communications. The automation, along with the efficiency around time and cost, has improved our organization. Around 20,000 messages a month have been automated. These typically would be financial/order transactions and confirmations in invoicing that have been automated.""SEEBURGER has helped us to enable digital business transformation. Every time we add a new customer, there is a digital footprint. This is no longer a manual process.""For the tool that we used to have, we had specially trained developers who used to do all the development of EDI maps and the configuration. But with SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) now, we were able to train our EDI analysts, and because the tool has very simple, intuitive mapping capabilities, even our EDI analysts are able to develop all the EDI maps, do all the configurations, and do all the setups for any of the trading partners.""SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is a highly stable solution that offers rich features for our B2B integration."

Cons
"Support for this product is not great. It needs to be improved.""We would like to see more details in messages about errors with the system.""When you remote into it the Qlik Replicate UI a lot of times it just freezes. We set up the EC2, to allow them to go to the server and click on the Replicate icon, it just opens up and just sits there. At that point, we have to go into the EC2 and then reboot the server. This should be fixed, it is frustrating.""In the next release, I would like to see closer integration with data catalyst.""The UI and data version control can be improved.""It would be better if the solution’s pricing were more obvious.""The solution's flexibility to work with APIs should also be improved since it is very weak in working with APIs.""This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved."

More Qlik Replicate Cons →

"I find the solution quite confusing to use, especially when looking at the tree structure.""There might be some improvements they could make to the portal, but they're not anything that stops me from working.""Java is very old technology and they should move away from it, to anything that's better.""In the BIS, if I want to have some API functionalities, that is a separate tool. The integration between the API tool and the BIS is not that straightforward. If they were to combine these tools and give us one suite, that would be helpful. Today I have a lot of partners onboard. I have something like 50,000 partners doing API transactions. If I want to introduce a new tool for API management, I have to do a lot of workarounds. But if it were integrated well within the existing suite, it could be straightforward for me.""We wanted to use API. We were told that in 6.52 we could use API management. Later on, we found that API management wasn't that completely integrated into the 6.52 solution, and if you wanted to have the whole API suite you might have to go to 6.7, the latest one.""It's rather difficult to understand, from the application, what's broken and why it doesn't work. We typically need to get support from them directly, and it's usually in a consulting role, to fix issues.""The ability to bind a mapping to an agreement seems a bit clunky. It would be nice to have a better way of navigating to a map name rather than using a drop down list.""All the topics we've identified have been placed on the SEEBURGER roadmap already... Among the things we have requested are improvements in the user interface and improvements that would be implemented by completely new modules or improvements in their Cloud Services."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Qlik Replicate is not expensive, compared to GoldenGate."
  • "Pricing for this solution is very reasonable."
  • "Overall, Qlik is an expensive solution. You need to pay for all additional features that you would like to use."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate Qlik Replicate's pricing a nine out of ten."
  • More Qlik Replicate Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing seems to be competitive and the maintenance is standard."
  • "The pricing and licensing is very competitive."
  • "I did a review of other options out there, as we moved into the future and our SAP implementation, that this would be the right solution. It was very comparable to other manage services out there. Thus, there wasn't any clear-cut reason to go in another direction."
  • "The cost of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) can be considered high. We have elected to have SEEBURGER consulting do the installation. Licensing could also be considered high. However, one would be hard pressed to find another product that does all that this one does."
  • "It has a very goofy pricing model in the sense that they have so many components and it's not very clear what components you require to do your work. When you ask for that, you learn that there's a surcharge for them. It's not that you buy a product and you can use all the compatibilities. They have all these different bits and pieces of it and you have to pay extra for all those things."
  • "Pricing, compared to the tool that we had earlier, is cheaper."
  • "The way they have their licensing structure set up, they have a lot of different modules. For us, we did not really know if we were licensed for certain things or not. We had to reach out to them multiple times to tell them that we were looking for this or that capability. We had to buy licenses for different things at different points in time, not knowing that we could have it bundled initially."
  • "The pricing is cheap. In fact, when I saw the pricing, I thought, "Really? What's the catch?" But the functionality that we get out of it, for the price we pay, is great value."
