Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is stable.""The initial setup is easy.""In my opinion, SAP PO is the most mature suite of tools to integrate processes across SAP environments at this moment. It's really unbeatable because it allows you to integrate whatever scenarios you can imagine.""The most valuable features of SAP Process Orchestration are the standard APIs that we can use.""SAP Process Orchestration is middleware where we are able to manage and interact with everything from a single location. One of the most beneficial areas is monitoring which is very easy because it is all in one place. There are many adapters added recently that can be used for new functionality. The solution is easy to operate and it is more mature than the cloud solution provided by SAP.""The product has good technical support but you usually will not need it because it is quite stable.""The most valuable features of SAP Process Orchestration are its system monitoring and alerts.""It provides essential features such as continuous monitoring of all interfaces are crucial for our needs."

"Naturally produces a way to easily debug your DW data solutions.""RED generates comprehensive documentation and regenerates it as quickly as things changes, but it also provides impact documentation.""WhereScape RED has improved our business's ability to generate needed reporting without requiring a large team of developers to manually code all of the necessary plumbing.""The most valuable feature is the metadata generated code.""RED has provided us the ability to integrate, stage, and transform data from diverse sources into an enterprise-grade data warehouse which meets the needs of my organization, but it also enables us to easily and quickly make ETL or DW changes.""Support is absolutely excellent, efficient, and timely.""Their support staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I feel their support staff go above and beyond to assure their customers are satisfied.""This is a fantastically robust DW tool that will make you at least 10 times faster in producing a DW."

Cons
"It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development.""We encounter challenges while connecting to MQTT and MQDD adapters.""The monitoring governance offered by SAP is too technical and needs to be geared more toward business users.""This is an on-premise platform and one area they can improve on is having the ability to work with SaaS solutions.""Process Orchestration doesn't provide authentication for data sent to us, meaning we have to rely on client certificate-based or basic authentication.""SAP needs to improve a lot in terms of the orchestration part so that more adapters can be provided to users, which are areas where the solution has downsides.""The solution could improve by making it more user-friendly by limiting the code required. We have to add some code in some cases where we need complex logic or some other functions. If this was able to be done in a more simplified manner then it would save a lot of effort and time.""The responsiveness of technical support needs to be improved."

"They need a more robust support center. It has been a bit difficult to find solutions to problems that are out-of-the-box.""Improve the object renaming ability (it works, but it could be more automated).""The ability to execute SSIS projects within WhereScape would be nice because we have a lot of packages that are too cumbersome to recreate.""No support for change data capture or delta detection - that must be custom coded .""It could use a tool to diagnose what is missing from the environment for WhereScape to install successfully.""The scheduled jobs which are run by the WhereScape scheduler seem to be a strangely separate animal. Unlike all other WhereScape objects, jobs cannot be added to WhereScape projects. Also, unlike all other objects, jobs also cannot be deleted using a WhereScape deployment application.""Jobs cannot be deleted via the deployment package. When deploying from dev to QA or production, a job has to be retired. The job has to be manually removed from the target environment.""The solution can be a little more user-friendly on enterprise-level where people use it."

    Overview
SAP NetWeaver Process Integration facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies. SAP PI is based on general standards so as to enable 3rd-party systems to be integrated. At the center of SAP PI is an XML-based communication that uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). Irrespective of the scenario used, the application-specific contents are transferred in messages in user-defined XML eXtensible Markup Language) from the sender to the receiver either via the Integration Server, or directly between the systems involved. SAP PI can be installed in different ways: Dual usage type installation: Based on both AS ABAP and AS Java. and Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX): Based on AS Java only.
