We performed a comparison between ScienceLogic and ServiceNow Discovery based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Server Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable features of ScienceLogic are AI and machine learning."
"It is simple."
"One of the valuable features is rapid dashboards."
"Best feature of all is detailed monitoring of services, processes, ports and SSL certificates and or web content."
"When it comes to features, the power pack is the most valuable."
"The best feature is the highly flexible graphs."
"It is very easy to configure because we are using an agent-less version. You can very quickly implement a collector for monitoring device servers."
"The solution provides good infra-monitoring features."
"We mostly use the solution's ITSM and ITOM capabilities in most workflows."
"It has been stable since deployment."
"The solution finds public cloud infrastructures globally and updates the integration management database, service catalogs, and asset management details."
"The service management and operations management modules are valuable."
"I like ServiceNow Discovery's overall structure and the way data comes in without creating a different dashboard or interface."
"This solution provides excellent insights."
"The best part about ServiceNow Discovery is that it is included in the ServiceNow suite."
"I find that the Discovery and scripting features are the most useful."
"It doesn't have the complete application-level topology. It could have service topology and business service monitoring. I would like to see how business service monitoring will function with agent-based installation, and how flexible and business-oriented it is for service modeling and service infrastructure. I have a lot of experience in using business service monitoring, service topology, and service hierarchy functionalities in similar products from BMC and Micro Focus (OpenView), and I want to see how these functionalities will look like in ScienceLogic."
"Admins do not have direct access to the reporting."
"ScienceLogic should provide detailed documents to customer as the current documents are not sufficient."
"ScienceLogic could improve the implementation, it could be made easier."
"They should improve database issues in HA and Failover mode, and provide documentation for all users , even if they are not customers."
"They need a little more self-service."
"The product must educate its strategic partners for deployment."
"The product is not user-friendly."
"Discovery, while a bit pricey, integrates well with other tools and offers a centralized discovery solution. These aspects could be enhanced in the new release."
"When you switch versions, for example, when you go from Paris to Quebec they will introduce many new things and occasionally things break when they do that."
"In future releases, I would like to see more AI-oriented enhancements in the solution. It would automate most of the things that we have to do manually write the scripts and go on the teleservice, what to do. So if we have something in place and if we can train the module, then AI would be a good thing."
"In a few instances, ServiceNow has failed to discover some basic things. Some other tools are better at network discovery than ServiceNow. I'm not talking about database servers or any other infrastructure—only networking. Cloud discovery could also be better."
"What needs improvement in ServiceNow Discovery is the reporting UI because I didn't find it as friendly compared to other tools. Other tools have better reporting UI than what's currently in ServiceNow Discovery. What I'd like to see in the next release of ServiceNow Discovery is more user-friendly out-of-the-box reporting that would be helpful for non-technical users. Some users such as managers would want to just do a few clicks to access the reports and shouldn't be required to do search queries, but right now, reporting in the tool isn't very user-friendly."
"It's an expensive platform."
"On the Software Asset Management part of it, I expect additional reconciliation and Discovery features there."
"The manual pattern-matching process is not only time-consuming but also presents challenges during system upgrades, demanding revisits to ensure compatibility."
