We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The AI capability is one of the main features of the solution because I believe that in the market, there are few solutions that are providing security solutions based on AI and machine learning.""The best feature is that onboarding to the SIM solution is quite easy. If you are using cloud-based solutions, it's just a few clicks to migrate it.""Investigations are something really remarkable. We can drill down right to the raw logs by running different queries and getting those on the console itself.""Microsoft Sentinel comes preloaded with templates for teaching and analytics rules.""The solution offers a lot of data on events. It helps us create specific detection strategies.""Microsoft Sentinel provides the capability to integrate different log sources. On top of having several data connectors in place, you can also do integration with a threat intelligence platform to enhance and enrich the data that's available. You can collect as many logs and build all the use cases.""What is most useful, is that it has a good connection to the Microsoft ecosystem, and I think that's the key part.""The solution has features that helped improve the security posture of our clients. It provides the ability to correlate a large variety of log sources very cost-effectively, especially for Microsoft sources."

"The solution is stable.""ServiceNow Security Operations also takes care of GRC, governance, risk and compliance, enabling it to provide risk assessment.""It's stable.""Reduces time to closure and closure metrics for vulnerabilities.""My favorite feature is the application vulnerability scanner.""Integration to other security tools allows for a consolidated view of all vulnerabilities, incidents, etc. for all sorts of leverage in a single platform to assess governance risk and compliance as well as an enhanced, enriched intelligence.""The most valuable aspect of working with ServiceNow is its meaningful and feature-rich product.""The product has a very simple UI."

"ThreatConnect has a highly user-friendly interface.""It's a solid platform and is stable enough. It is not complicated and is easy to use.""The most valuable features are ease of use and the ability to customize it.""The product automatically generated a threat score based on the maliciousness of an IP."

Cons
"If I see an alert and I want to drill down and get more details about the alert, it's not just one click. In other SIEM tools, you just have to click the IP address of the entity and they give you the complete picture. In Sentinel, you have to write queries or use saved queries to get details.""Add more out-of-the-box connectors with other SaaS platforms/applications.""Sentinel provides decent visibility, but it's sometimes a little cumbersome to get to the information I want because there is so much information. I would also like to see more seamless integration between Sentinel and third-party security products.""Microsoft Sentinel is relatively expensive, and its cost should be improved.""The KQL query does not function effectively with Windows 11 machines, and in the majority of machine-based investigations, KQL queries are essential for organizing the data during investigations.""We do have in-built or out-of-the-box metrics that are shown on the dashboard, but it doesn't give the kind of metrics that we need from our environment whereby we need to check the meantime to detect and meantime to resolve an incident. I have to do it manually. I have to pull all the logs or all the alerts that are fed into Sentinel over a certain period. We do this on a monthly basis, so I go into Microsoft Sentinel and pull all the alerts or incidents we closed over a period of thirty days.""Sentinel still has some anomalies. For example, sometimes when we write a query for log analysis with KQL, it doesn't give us the data in a proper way... Also, the fields or columns could be improved. Sometimes, it is not giving the desired results and there is a blank field.""Not all information shows up in Sentinel. Sometimes there are items provided in 365 and if you looked in Sentinel you would not see them and therefore think they do not exist. There can be discrepancies between Microsoft tools."

More Microsoft Sentinel Cons →

"We'd like customization to be easier in terms of the UI and using the dashboards.""The initial setup is difficult.""The solution needs to make customization easier. You cannot do much customization immediately. It requires an extensive workload. If the customization process was user-friendly, it would be much better.""It doesn't interact with things very well.""There is room for improvement in terms of developer support and documentation.""Process framework and best practices for ease of integration between IT and security teams via incident, problem, and change.""The threat intelligence module needs a better dashboard.""There are limitations for the third-parties that are providing the inputs. They should increase the robustness of the solution."

More ServiceNow Security Operations Cons →

"Integration is an area that could use some improvement.""I couldn’t get any training videos online when I was working with the tool.""It would be good to have more feeds and more integrated sources for enrichment.""They should make it a little bit easier to generate events and share them with the community"

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It comes with a Microsoft subscription which the customer has, so they don't have to invest somewhere else."
  • "It is a consumption-based license model. bands at 100, 200, 400 GB per day etc. Azure Sentinel Pricing | Microsoft Azure"
  • "Good monthly operational cost model for the detection and response outcomes delivered, M365 logs don't count toward the limits which is a good benefit."
  • "I have had mixed feedback. At one point, I heard a client say that it sometimes seems more expensive. Most of the clients are on Office 365 or M365, and they are forced to take Azure SIEM because of the integration."
  • "It is kind of like a sliding scale. There are different tiers of pricing that go from $100 per day up to $3,500 per day. So, it just kind of depends on how much data is being stored. There can be additional costs to the standard license other than the additional data. It just kind of depends on what other services you're spinning up in Azure, or if you're using something like Azure log analytics."
  • "I am just paying for the log space with Azure Sentinel. It costs us about $2,000 a month. Most of the logs are free. We are only paying money for Azure Firewall logs because email logs or Azure AD logs are free to use for us."
  • "Sentinel is a bit expensive. If you can figure a way of configuring it to meet your needs, then you can find a way around the cost."
  • "Azure Sentinel is very costly, or at least it appears to be very costly. The costs vary based on your ingestion and your retention charges."

  • "This product is a good value for the money."
  • "If you're going to implement it on your own, there would be internal costs. If you're going to implement it through a contractor or consultant, you have to pay for that."
  • "The solution is more expensive than BMC Remedy, the other ITSM tool available in the market."

  • "The price of this product is in the mid-range, not too expensive, nor inexpensive."
