We performed a comparison between Skybox Security Suite and Tenable Vulnerability Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Vulnerability Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."When you import all the assets that you have, like desktops, servers, networks, devices, routers, and then firewalls, and other products, then Skybox makes like, a model of the network, but with context. So, it is not just a model in VIZIO. Or something like it like that. You get the model with context, and, like, it looks like a real network in a real-time. So you can check your network and the security of your network on that model."
"The most impressive feature is optimization and clean-up."
"I am impressed with the tool's change management, firewall and network assurance."
"The features that I have found most valuable with Skybox Security Suite, and this is because I work on the security side, are the firewall assurance, the change manager and the vulnerability control. These three features are the most impressive from Skybox Security."
"instead of asking for firewall rules which may or may not be relevant, or could already be there, or could be over-permissioned, Skybox can be used to map out the resources that that application is going to use and provide the exact rules that an application would require to function correctly. If the traffic isn't able to flow for the application, if it's erring out, Skybox can be used to troubleshoot that and say, "All right, where is the traffic being stopped and why, and how do I fix that.""
"The revalidation and policy recertifications are most valuable."
"It's very supportive and very user-friendly."
"The solution offers very nice dashboards and they've recently added a very good Java-based web interface."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"A new user can easily understand the workflow, even if they are creating users for other divisions and the user is a beginner."
"Tenable.io, in particular, is quite a powerful product. It looks at your traditional environment, which is pretty much anything that is on-premises, and it also goes a step ahead and covers your modern assets, which is anything that is currently sitting in the cloud. You get complete visibility of your entire environment and tech operation. The ability to give you visibility across the entire tech surface is one of the biggest advantages that Tenable.io has."
"You can customize each point in new scans."
"The interface is fine."
"The most valuable feature for me is container scanning because I am interested in CICD security."
"One of the most valuable features of Tenable.io Vulnerability Management is its exportability, which allows us to conduct risk assessments efficiently."
"The best feature of the solution is the amount of visibility it provides of the vulnerabilities."
"The primary room for improvement would be to enable a web interface, which is not something which is there in the product. This is supposed to have come a year, a year and a half ago, but still has failed to come out. It still needs a client application to be installed on a workstation to be able to access that server and then run these reports. So I cannot extend that access to anybody. It has to be one administrator all the time. So unlike a web interface, where you can give multiple users simultaneous access and generate the various reports, that isn't a possibility at the moment."
"The most recent update was not tested with all of the vendors before it was released, so some of the features are misbehaving."
"The cloud site could be better. They should provide some use cases to help users."
"There is room for improvement in the technical support."
"During implementation, we realised approximately 30 devices were not supported by the Skybox platform."
"The vendor's support is terrible."
"Modifications and the deletion of existing policies are currently unavailable."
"The solution does not support certain devices or vendors in some regions or countries due to regulations."
"The product could be easier to set up on the cloud."
"We'd like to see a bit more user-friendliness."
"They need to have more dependable and faster support."
"They should include better customization of the dashboard, and integration tools."
"The solution is a bit slow."
"Another area of improvement is customer service and support. Tenable needs to include support in the pricing/license. Currently, they push clients to get support from partners or channel distributors, who often charge a lot."
"I'm not satisfied with the reporting structure."
"The solution seems to focus too much on enterprises, and they really need a product that works for SMBs."
