We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""The stability is very good.""The setup is pretty simple.""We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."

"It is a scalable platform.""The solution's setup is straightforward and doesn't take much time to complete.""It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.""The solution's most valuable aspect, for us, is the DLP portion of the product.""With Sophos, the scanning of viruses and scanning of the disk is done silently in the background.""We bought it because it was cost-effective.""The most valuable feature Sophos EPP Suite is that it protects the computer beyond the premise. Whether the user is at home, in the office, or traveling, you are able to apply the policies as the user moves.""The product’s selling point is its ability to protect against zero-day threats and its integration with the firewall."

"The product blocks computer viruses.""Managing SEP is very easy, and also troubleshooting part is easily managed.""The most useful features are the antivirus, anti-spyware, and the firewall feature. It also provides application control and Host Integrity, which is a very unique feature.""It is good for detecting signature-based viruses, and it is user friendly.""It's good at detecting signature-based stuff and stopping that.""Protection from viruses, malware, Trojans, and malicious files is most valuable. It is also good in terms of application control. I can control the type of external media that can be connected with endpoint devices and protect them from malicious files and devices such as USB.""It just works. We have a console, and I can see it at a glance. I don't have any problems with it at all.""Symantec End-User Endpoint Security is scalable."

Cons
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations.""The SIEM could be improved.""The solution is not stable.""ZTNA can improve latency.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location.""The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"Sophos EPP Suite's support services need improvement.""The solution could be improved in terms of the performance of the appliances. Sometimes the appliances in the market can be quite large. Additionally, in comparison to other appliances, such as FortiGate, Cisco Firepower, or ASA, it could be improved in terms of package processing or traffic handling.""The solution’s performance could be improved for the end-users.""I would like to have more logging features to help more deeply analyze traffic.""Sophos EPP Suite could improve the way it can be installed. They used to have one installer and now they have two, one for the server and one for the client. I don't know the difference, it brings confusion.""We have to use additional third-party solutions to fill the gaps in the capabilities of Sophos EPP Suite, such as using a mobility scanner. It would be helpful to add this feature.""Sophos EPP Suite could improve by decreasing the number of resources it uses. There are other solutions that use one-fifth of the resources.""The solution isn't quite accurate enough. It provides a lot of false positives."

More Sophos EPP Suite Cons →

"The whitelisting feature does not work as expected.""The reporting could be improved.""The virus definitions could be updated more frequently.""Users mostly complain that the solution slows down the system whenever something is scanned.""It would be nice to be able to manage the endpoints a bit further. A valuable attribute would be the management of software inventory, software deployment, and third-party software deployment. I would like to see the ability to deploy and delete unlicensed software. Many users try to install what they shouldn't, so that would be really useful.""The one thing I don't like about Symantec Endpoint Security is the amount of resources it uses.""Maybe Symantec Endpoint Security could amend their pricing structure, but they always offer a good product.""Its GUI needs improvement. It's good, but it needs to be improved in terms of management and reporting."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
