We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

"It's quite easy to integrate Safeguard with BitLocker""The features that I have found most valuable are encryption tools that encrypt the hard disk and the USB sticks.""With Sophos, I only need to generate the password and give that to a user to be able to allow them to login to the admin page of the Endpoint and do whatever they need to do. The user cannot go ahead and uninstall it. It's kept us much more secure because of this. Should any event happen on a particular system, I'm given the username and the system IP address. I get notifications and can deal with issues right away.""The most valuable feature is the synchronized security. It's a unique feature on the market at this time only offered by Sophos. As a reseller, we often win bids and get clients because of this unique trademark feature.""The solution has done a fabulous job of protecting us from threats.""Policy deployment is easy and quick to do.""The user experience and the quality of the features are good.""The monitoring features are easy to use."

"The solution is great for large-scale deployments.""You get updates and other encrypted files easily.""The most valuable feature is that it works in the background so that the end-users are not aware of what is happening on the laptop.""This product is a solid, all-in-one solution for enterprise data management.""The most valuable features are the messaging features and shared folders.""We can extend it to all of the critical endpoints and the servers, and we can ensure the confidentiality of the data.""Their cloud features such as Cloud Endpoint security, ransomware modules, malware, and other modules are very effective.""The encryption feature is very good."

"When you have the PPM chipset, you can have the power-on authentication, when you boot up your machine, you can set the six-digit passcode. As of right now, SafeGuard can't manage the six-digit passcode in terms of the expiration, and I need that added as a feature.""The security does not have 100% authentication.""If it's possible, they should make all the features available because it's got a lot of features on offer, but you have to buy the license in order to add those features to the normal Endpoint. If they could make all those features available and/or offer a bundling option it would be better.""In the next release, I would like to see more automation with the endpoint logging, but it's a special feature that is quite complicated to explain.""Technical support could be a bit better.""Having a DLP integrated with the encryption engine would be very good.""The tutorials need to be simplified. The existing ones need to be easier to follow and we could use some tutorials for basic setups. They should aim to be more like Cisco, which offers very good tutorials and materials.""I would like to see a support-cloud, where Sophos creates a single package that contains all of its products."

More Sophos SafeGuard Cons »

"The solution does slow down the device a little bit, once it's installed.""More features need to be included in the encryption software.""I do not find the environment to be very user-friendly.""The instability of the company and lack of presence in the Middle East is affecting product use.""The program's disk encryption is not very friendly with Microsoft OS updates. We have a problem with updates failing unless we use a time-consuming work-around.""If for example, a user forgets the endpoint key, they cannot access their data. We need a support team that is a single point of contact for the IT entity to be trained and to have documentation for troubleshooting and managing the solution.""I think that they should improve the on-premises version to include the manageability and simplicity that is available on the cloud.""The agent can be improved on the solution. Right now, we have an Endpoint Protection agent as well as an encryption agent and another for the DLVs and other services. We would prefer a single agent for the entire product."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"We have a yearly license with Sophos which is around $1000-$1200 or so per annum. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee.""The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect.""Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis.""The licensing costs depend on the series. For example, XG 85 can be around $200. If you go to ACC or to a four or five-year enterprise solution, you will find these devices can cost $10,000. It depends on the series."

"The cost of this solution is a little on the higher side.""The pricing is fair but there is variability in our area that needs to be addressed.""Depending on how many modules you will use (up to five) the licensing will be more expensive.""They have two solutions for encryption including Symantec Endpoint Encryption and PGP Endpoint Encryption. With one PGP license, you can deploy the two solutions. The PGP license gives you two options.""The licensing costs yearly are $5000.""It can be expensive. However, if you plan to scale or are at a large enterprise company, this product could be what you need."
