We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The flexibility to develop and consolidate many solutions into one platform is great.""The feature that stood out to me most from Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) was automated dashboarding or reporting. The solution lists the severity level of issues, and the response times.""One of the excellent features is the service analyzer, which is truly impressive.""We liked the built-in calculation of health scores.""Customers have noted the solution helps streamline incident management.""We have a lot of teams using Splunk and they would be blind without it.""ITSI's most valuable feature is that it's easy to integrate DLP.""In my opinion, Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) is better than QRadar. With the help of Splunk, we can get results."

"It allows us to see how the network devices function as well as to see network glitches or fluctuations or dropping of packets.""The solution is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. When you log in to the application you are presented with a dashboard that is very reasonable for an initial user, and you can then customize it to your specific needs. But for all the data that we've found, we've only had to go through two or three drill-downs to get into that information.""It provides deep visibility into what is happening with traffic and helps us manage our network.""The most valuable feature for me is the different views that you can get when selecting an application or a VLAN. It shows you the traffic flows. It gives you a visual representation of something that, in text, just may not make as much sense.""It allows you to see traffic that you couldn't otherwise see, which is traffic within your Layer 3-bounded network, meaning east-west traffic. It's hard to get that any other way.""The graphical interface of this environment is so good with all the views, the graphics, and everything in them. It's really easy for me. It doesn't need an engineer to work on it. It's easy enough that anyone can get into the environment and look for issues or look at how communication is going on across the VMs. It's pretty much straightforward.""I like being able to see the flows coming in and out of the product. In terms of monitoring network flows, we use it to verify whether or not different servers/applications should be communicating with each other.""The ability to use the natural language query and see the visualization is quickly intuitive, and it works very well."

Cons
"We'd like them to show more inputs on the dashboard.""Microservices is the only area where Splunk ITSI can be improved. When things come from one EC2 instance to another, there's a lack of exposure to microservices, so we can't know what's happening. Apart from that, it's doing pretty well.""The dashboard queries should be improved. More queries should be suggested in order to produce better dashboards.""It is pretty okay. I am not sure whether the current release has already moved to the new framework where instead of the glass tables, we can directly use the Dashboard Studio. It would be nice to have that integrated into the same framework.""Splunk ITSI generates numerous false positives and has the potential for enhancement.""We also faced challenges relating to UI development.""ITSI could benefit from a security model that would allow operations team members to get involved in model building, KPI implementation, and model maintenance, while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.""Some of our customers occasionally require the development of the connectors when there are no native connectors so that we can develop in Python or for customer slash comments as well. If they could adjust that, it would be ideal."

More Splunk ITSI (IT Service Intelligence) Cons →

"There is room for improvement when it comes to pricing because we pay here in Brazil, and all the costs are based on the dollar.""The compatibility with each and every component of the infrastructure is the main thing that I am looking for. I would like them to make sure that it's compatible with different kinds of storage systems, etc. I have seen the compatibility list. I feel it can be more compatible than it is right now.""The IT infrastructure industry is expected to evolve towards a hybrid cloud model in the next five to ten years. In this model, most of the customer's resources reside on-premise within a private cloud setup, such as VMware. Another segment operates within public cloud environments like Azure and AWS, and a portion remains in traditional data centers. There should be seamless interoperability between public and private clouds. AWS and VMware need to work together to make it possible. Whether users interact with on-premise infrastructure or configure resources in the public cloud, the user experience must be seamless.""The only issue we have is that the solution does not always capture the host names.""The solution is very much viewer centric and it would be nice if it would transcend just the virtual infrastructure.""I'd like to see better support for being able to search the hardware NetFlow data. It ingests fairly well, but you can't tell, in a lot of cases, what source the data came from. I'd like to see more support for picking specific sources. That way you could really make a compelling use case. There are also some difficulties where it can't exactly trace the path between source and destination but if you hit the reverse flow on the same search it shows the entire path.""I would like to see them expand the capabilities to infrastructure types other than just VMware.""vRNI needs more remediation where it hooks into NSX."
