Pros
Built in reports show package execution and messages. Logging can also be customized so only what is needed is logged. There is also an excellent logging replacement called BiXpress that provides both historical and real-time monitoring which is more efficient and much more robust than the built-in logging capabilities. And none of this requires custom coding to make it useful unlike many other ETL tools. The most valuable features of this solution are the fast insert and fuzzy logic matching. This solution is easy to implement, has a wide variety of connectors, has support for Visual Basic, and supports the C language. The initial setup of this solution is very straightforward. The setup is straightforward. It's very easy to install. With this solution, there is the potential to expand, so that you can immediately write code onto the SQL server. The workflow features have been very valuable. You can have automated workflows and all the steps are controlled. The workflow functionality of integration services is excellent. It has a drag and drop feature that makes it easy to use. It has a good user experience because it takes into account your most-used tools and they're lined up nicely so you can just drag and drop without looking too far. It also integrates nicely with Microsoft.

They're very competitive in terms of performance, which is a good selling point. It has very rich features. It provides a very rich feature set in the application. The basic tools are easy to pick up and understand.Talend Studio has the ability to connect to almost anything to integrate data from files, databases, web services, etc.I think Talend is one of the easiest tools for faster implementation compared to other tools.

Cons
You have to write push down join & lookup SQL to the database yourself via stored procedures or use of the SQL Task to get very high performance. That said, this is a common complaint for nearly all ETL tools on the market and those that offer an alternative such as Informatica offer them at a very expensive add-on price.Generic processes should be used instead of custom code for each table.Tuning using this solution requires extensive expertise to improve performance. The performance of this solution is not as good as other tools in the market.Video training would be a helpful addition. The solution should work on the GPU, graphical processing unit. There should also be piping integration available. It needs more integration tools, so you can connect to different sources. There were some issues when we tried to connect it to data storage. It was a connection issue.

Including either XML or JSON in the next release would definitely be a good transformation. I'm not sure if Talend has that feature, but it's one of those requirements that we are working around and have to do some parsing of XML so this could make it easier.Once you get past the basic tools, it gets pretty complicated. The documentation from version to version could be more accurate. The stability is good, but the performance is slower when I work on a huge amount of data.

Pricing and Cost Advice
t's incredibly cost effective, easy to learn the basics quickly (although like all ETL tools requires the traditional learning curve to get good at) and has an immense user base. This solution is included with the MSSQL server package. My advice is to look at what your configuration will be because most companies have their own deals with Microsoft. This solution has provided an inexpensive tool, and it is easy to find experienced developers.
