We performed a comparison between Arcserve UDP and Veeam Backup & Replication based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: The main difference between the two products is that Veeam users say the pricing is high. In this comparison, Arcserve UDP comes out on top.
"The most valuable feature is the duplication."
"The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is the initiative UI and the logs are clear and detailed that are generated when there has been an issue or failure on the user's system. We only have to log onto the client's system to retrieve the information. It is possible to precisely identify the problem's location. The system categorizes and logs every step in a structured manner, selectively displaying only the essential logs. However, to view a comprehensive log, one must access the line machine log and examine the actual client for detailed logging."
"The data protection functionality is the most valuable feature of this solution."
"This product is extremely user-friendly and it is capable of performing large-scale archive/backup (five+ years worth). It is easy to store, maintain, and check backups."
"The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is live replication."
"Global deduplication is the best feature of this solution."
"Arcserve has a feature called virtual standby (VSB), which has been very helpful because I already have a hot standby copy of my critical infrastructure. If something breaks, I can spin up that virtual standby copy in less than five minutes and ensure that my data is available to everyone and that business continuity is maintained."
"Instant recovery is the most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP."
"The solution is a user-friendly interface."
"Veeam's file monitoring capabilities are strong and consistent."
"Veeam Backup Replication is easy to use and has high performance. The backups are very fast. It's a complete solution that fulfills our current needs."
"I know it's not exactly a feature, but I accept it works and it's easy to use. With the Veeam Backup & Replication, we have no problems in managing restore. Obviously, the most important thing about backup software. I used to say that every backup software can make backups, but only good ones can make a restore."
"Vendor integration for many of the enterprise features have allowed for us to have greater performance from our storage vendors further improving on our commitments to protect our clients' data."
"Veeam Backup Replication's snapshotting and cloning are the most valuable features."
"Veeam Is very useful for most environments and can scale up in most environments - such as Amazon or Azure."
"Veeam Cloud Connect has helped us to reduce the cost of cloud storage for an offsite solution using their archive storage feature."
"It takes much time to verify and consolidate images for backups."
"We could not go into granular details of retrieving backup information."
"Arcserve UDP is in the middle range of complexity. The interface can be developed a little bit more to be user-friendly."
"Its interface can be improved. I find it unintuitive."
"One of the biggest drawbacks of Arcserve UDP is that it does not have a single console, making it an area that needs to be considered for improvement."
"The technical support of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"We have to use a Microsoft hypervisor for installation which is expensive."
"Backups are very slow and time consuming."
"I would like them to move back to host licensing."
"Veeam currently lacks features for backing up to network-attached storage. Veeam Backup & Replication agents do not support S3 storage. Only Veeam Backup & Replication server supports S3 storage."
"The recovery and integration features of Veeam Backup Replication could improve. For example, all VM integration could improve, such as with Hyper-V and VMware."
"Multithreading of health check process: This can take too much time to process on large jobs and/or large VMs."
"There needs to be more integration with VMware and the virtual machine."
"The price can be a bit expensive."
"Lacks online training."
"The more features the solution has the more complex it can be to set up. Veeam Backup & Replication can be complex."

Hi!
I can send you comparision documents if you would like but as Kevin mentioned, first it is good to know the exact needs and specification you or your company expects from Backup solution.
Kind regards
Szabolcs
I can only vouch for Veeam which we use in a 100% virtualised environment. for us it's perfect, we run backup locally and replication to a remote datacentre. we can recover individual files or whole VM's. we can spin up recovered VM's in a sandbox environment. we've just started to play with restore to Azure as well. licencing in on a per host basis, we use it for both VMware and Hyper-V vm's. I hope this is of some help to you?
I second Kevin's remark. It is almost impossible to compare various backup solutions without knowing your environment. Are you backing up exclusively Windows, Windows and Linux, do you have Novell, minicomputer and the list goes on. Why type of backup hardware are you using, WORM, Tape Drive, Tape Autochanger..... And I have not even touched the functions you want the backup to do.
The field about Backup is very big , I am a partner from Acronis , and Acronis has many advantage ,over others tecnology , but in specifics skills , another Marks have theirs improvement skills too , you must specific about what ? Virtualization, storage, management, recovery virtual to physical ? is a lot information to say ..

Thank you so much Everyone for your Suggestions..
