We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""The stability is very good.""The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other.""This is stable and scalable.""Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""It is stable and scalable.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."

"It is good for detecting signature-based viruses, and it is user friendly.""When they started they found it very easy; not easy to implement but easy to use. We started with the headquarters here and later we also implemented it for all the subsidiaries in the region, in other countries. They have a centralized solution, so they can help other countries in management.""It's a good proxy to control the user's access to the website.""One of the most valuable features is the ability to manage antivirus security. There is an admin console that helps you make policies and do deployment of the clients, to make them reachable and to deploy updates.""I like the endpoint detection and response. That's the best feature. I also like the fact that we don't need to use a file on the computer, whereas some anti-malware solutions work with a file on the endpoint. Symantec is a very good option compared to solutions from other vendors.""It's good for large organizations. It's able to handle a lot of users.""The solution offers very good security features and is comparable to Sophos.""The product has been quite stable."

"Valuable features include good scanning, very light footprint and management console that the client can access and (just as important) in which I can see status of groups of computers (I am a consultant, IT role).""The solution has many features. It is very easy to define and set the policies based on the user groups, it does not take up a lot of resources in operation, and has provided us with a good track record of protection.""Their policy management, their cloud-based dashboard and user interface are very easy to navigate.""The ease of use of the centralized admin console is its best asset.""I rate the initial setup phase a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy.""Speed""The initial setup is not complex at all. It's very straightforward.""It monitors traffic and keeps us from getting ransomware or other viruses."

Cons
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later.""The solution is not stable.""Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR.""The SIEM could be improved.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"There could be definition updates installed and running for the product, similar to new EDR solutions that receive updates from the internet.""This latest version has proven unreliable for management and installation.""The monitoring capabilities could be further developed.""If the agent can be minimized so that it can work with in-memory concepts, that would be ideal. As of now, it is file-based, signature-based.""The solution could improve by having a better graphical interface.""Future releases should ideally be cheaper.""Since the acquisition by Broadcom, we are no longer receiving the proper support.""They should work on making the virus definition file lighter."

More Symantec Endpoint Security Cons →

"Technical support is not the best. It's hard to get a hold of them if we need help. It's something that definitely needs improvement.""It doesn't do anything proactive. The virus has to hit the machine before it detects it.""Their customer support should be better. We started having some issues with it, and we didn't get the required support.""It needs to improve the problems with the faster connection, and have a huge reduction in false positives.""I did notice that my OS slowed down, but I don't know if that's due to Webroot.""There should be a Webroot Business Endpoint Protection mobile app.""It would be great if there was a feature which would allow you to scan an individual file on an endpoint user's computer.""Its detection capability for certain attacks should be improved. It should have better and wider detection for certain malware attacks. It could also have some sort of RMN."

  • "The solution doesn't cost too much. It's about 30 Euros a year for each endpoint. It's pretty affordable for us and for many other companies."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
