We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"On the outside, the main differentiation is because Lookout ingest. They have ingested basically all of the apps for the last ten years and all the versions of all the apps, and we have that in a corporate database that allows us to do very large-scale machine learning and analysis on that data set. That's not something that any of the competitors really have the capability to do because they don't have access to the data set. A lot of the apps you can no longer get them because that version of the app is five or six years old, and it just doesn't exist anywhere anymore, except within our infrastructure. So, the ability to have that very rich dataset and learn from that dataset is a real differentiator.""The protection offered by the product is the most valuable feature. It detects vulnerabilities or traps on our users' phones and then prompts them to clean up their devices. Tools we used previously would only discover, which required us to gather information on the backend, so Lookout is a welcome upgrade.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable features are the antivirus as a whole, the anti-malware, and all of the protection features that scan our enterprise devices."

More Lookout Pros →

"The most valuable feature is the caching.""The product is very good, and the URL filtering database is great.""The tool's most valuable features are content-to-content filtration and SCCM protection.""What I found most valuable in Symantec Proxy is that it doesn't have any limitations. It also has a simple configuration, with only one window pane, unlike Zscaler, which has multiple window panes. Deploying the agent is also more straightforward in Symantec Proxy.""The solution is scalable.""The most valuable feature of Symantec Proxy is the support and autoscaling.""The most valuable features of this solution are the URL database, malicious URLs, policies, and policy creation.""The content that we are getting is very good. Content caching is also supported."

More Symantec Proxy Pros →

"The solution's scalability is good and we have more than 90 users for it.""The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Web Security stems from the fact that it is neither a cheap nor an expensive tool.""Threat protection solution with good stability and scalability. Installation is straightforward. Support for this product is good.""The product's installation phase was easy.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable feature is machine learning, which automatically monitors the activity on the machine.""The solution's technical support team is responsive.""We find the advanced license for the DLP to be particularly useful with this product."

Cons
"We just submitted an enhancement request reflecting the main area we want to see improvement in; the APIs. Currently, we're able to build dashboards, but it's somewhat backward because we use our MDM API to create them. Lookout should provide API to customers so we can query our data and use it in our cloud, and this is the only outstanding area for improvement with the product right now.""The stability depends on the service from where you access it. Because sometimes, the place you are in, you have Gateway. You don't have Gateway. The gateway is overutilized. At the end, you need to go through their gateways. And this is the key point here. You have a tracking point. If it's not well orchestrated, and it scales up as you add more to the existing team, you will suffer""From the analysis that we've done, they do seem to be maybe a step behind in trying to enter the market with a new solution. But when they do pick up, they do come out with some good products.""Lookout was moving into the SSE space. And so their work on SecureWeb Gateway and SD-WAN is still sort of evolving."

More Lookout Cons →

"The user interface could be improved, and the price could be lower as well.""The initial setup can be somewhat complex, and deploying the system can take some time.""Technical support is an area that requires some improvement.""There are performance issues with all of the proxies.""Improvements in log availability would greatly enhance its overall effectiveness.""Prior to the Broadcom purchase, every appliance was application based, but now they have one ISG device and on top of it multiple applications are running. It has a single point of failure. If your device goes down, all of the applications would be down.""Support response time and case resolution could be improved.""One area for improvement in Symantec is the lack of a reporting server or dashboard integration with SIM."

More Symantec Proxy Cons →

"The product should be more secure and stable. It is also not flexible.""I would like to see better scalability and better performance.""This solution has a lot of restrictions on what non-administrator users can do, including generating comparative code. We would like to see this changed as the product is developed.""What could help Trend Micro Web Security in terms of improvement is the addition of a DDoS protection feature. It also needs to be more comprehensive to meet the needs of large-sized companies.""The costs are a bit high in terms of licensing.""The price of Trend Micro Web Security is the only area of concern where improvements are required. From an improvement perspective, the product should be made available to users at a cheaper rate.""The system should generate reports when an attack has been stopped, contained, or removed.""The product's scalability is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is fair; it's comparable to our previous solution, and we carried out multiple POCs and POVs (proof of value). The product is worth the money we pay for it."
  • "Lookout is definitely on the lower end when it comes to price point and that seems to be the only differentiator. The technology is in place in this space and it's really about who is coming in at the better price point now."
  • "In terms of feature performance versus cost, they're a good value."
  • "The licensing costs are good. Prisma has much more options and support for security, but it has a higher cost. For example, Lookout costs 2/3rd of Prisma's licensing price."
  • More Lookout Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "In terms of cost, it is expensive. Its pricing has been a challenge for us since its acquisition by Broadcom."
  • "It's expensive. Clients often go to other products."
  • "Licensing is based on a subscription."
  • "The price is too expensive compared with that of another solution."
  • "There are no licensing fees required."
  • "There is a license needed to use Symantec Proxy."
  • "Our cost was based on a three-year upfront CapEx contract."
  • "Symantec Proxy has different expiry dates and renewal dates, which is a problem, so Broadcom should improve the licensing renewal process for the solution."
  • More Symantec Proxy Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I don't remember the exact pricing, but I think that it is approximately $10.00 per user."
  • "There's annual and monthly options for the license. When you're on the managed services option, it's monthly. They're also setting up an option via AWS where there will be a monthly option via the AWS shopfront."
  • "The license is yearly and user based."
  • "We have found this product to be very cost effective. The endpoint product costs roughly $20, and when purchasing the endpoint product, there are multiple other features included."
  • "The solution is expensive in terms of deployment."
  • "I rate the product price a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
  • "I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
