Cons
Conditional formatting could be an interesting feature to provide to final users. The data preparation/blending options are very basic. They could be improved.Tableau is a company that does not respect partners.I would like them to include the Italian language, as I can see there are other foreign language in the product. They need to improve the bar chart position and width. The use of this service in the desktop version is annoying due to the constant updates which lead to reinstalling the application. If they could give support with updates on the same downloaded version, it would be great. It needs a little bit more advanced modeling. I would like to see functionality like Cognos has in the Framework Manager.Bursting email is needed to deliver the reports to many people in their inboxes and this functionality is not provided by Tableau.

Their level of technical support is adequate. It could be better. The initial setup was complex as we had to rewrite a lot of the code.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Tableau's licensing is pretty straightforward and simple.ROI is very high, but it requires a data preparation/blending tool. The price could be higher for the quality of software, so they revised the pricing in this version, and I agree with the price for top version. The top version costs about $70 per month, and the price is cheap for the quality.I like the payment model. For the people who need to create, they buy their licenses. Everyone else can use the free Tableau Viewer. This is much better than some of the competitor products, which require full licences for everything. The cost is high.Deployment of dashboards to viewers and unit supervisors can be prohibitively expensive.I wish there was more of a subscription model with the pricing when it comes to Tableau, so you can get all the latest version upgrades/features if you pay monthly/annually.Tableau can be costly (but this can be indefinable, such as user experience vs. cheaper etc.)

I would advise others to look into migration and setup as a fixed price and incorporate a SaaS option for other Teradata services. When looking into implementing this product, pricing is the main issue followed by technical expertise.
