Quotes From Members Comparing Tableau vs Zoho Reports

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
The most valuable feature is the 3D charting. This service is the combination of very pleasant, interactive graphical visualizations along with the application of advanced statistical models (in some cases). It is an excellent tool for data capture, processing, and visualization. The solution is being delivered to our customer, who appreciates the insights generated from the reports. It is easy for them to drill into the details and use interactive charts. We found Tableau has the quickest learning time out of the few other BI reporting tools that we have used. It's the ease of use. It is also a self-service tool so it decreases the burden on having centralized IT-type teams or developers. It provides business users with a tool, so they are not dependent on IT.Analysis is now more visual than in the past.

Cons
They need to improve the bar chart position and width. The use of this service in the desktop version is annoying due to the constant updates which lead to reinstalling the application. If they could give support with updates on the same downloaded version, it would be great. It needs a little bit more advanced modeling. I would like to see functionality like Cognos has in the Framework Manager.Bursting email is needed to deliver the reports to many people in their inboxes and this functionality is not provided by Tableau. It needs more ETL capabilities, to be able to address the end-to-end BI need. The ability to use it on MAC machines. As far as I know, this is not possible.Conditional formatting could be an interesting feature to provide to final users. The data preparation/blending options are very basic. They could be improved.

It would be great to have more user input fields which can be used on dashboards.

Pricing and Cost Advice
I like the payment model. For the people who need to create, they buy their licenses. Everyone else can use the free Tableau Viewer. This is much better than some of the competitor products, which require full licences for everything. The cost is high.Deployment of dashboards to viewers and unit supervisors can be prohibitively expensive.Tableau's licensing is pretty straightforward and simple.ROI is very high, but it requires a data preparation/blending tool.I wish there was more of a subscription model with the pricing when it comes to Tableau, so you can get all the latest version upgrades/features if you pay monthly/annually.Tableau can be costly (but this can be indefinable, such as user experience vs. cheaper etc.)Buy 50 at a time. Project your use base every three months, and project your requirements forward.

I would recommend looking at your usage and whether the Zoho One license model would work for your organisation. It is very cost effective if you use other Zoho tools. An exact ROI is hard to calculate. However, we have definitely made sales that would have been much harder, or unlikely, as a result of the speed with which we were able to prepare comprehensive analysis.
