Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I was on the lookout for automation testing on the browser and I believe this tool is very interesting in that matter. The solution is useful for UI testing. You just need to add the URL that is to be checked.""The solution is very stable. We've never had any issues with it.""The features that I have found most valuable are that there are various test case templates and test artifact maintenance.""The product helps us create test cases and reports.""Integration with Confluence and JIRA.""I haven't faced any stability issues using the solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The API to support integration of the homemade automated testing tool.""The most valuable features of TestRail by Gurock are the user experience, it's very easy to learn. There is no learning curve needed to work on projects and manage the test cases, it is easy. Exporting and importing are simple."

"This tool has test data management capability along with test management.""The automation engine is very strong, and it is very competitive in the market in terms of features. They develop a lot of features.""Tricentis Tosca is well integrated with other products like Jira.""Tosca BI is important to make sure that our data integrity is in check and validated; to make sure our data is good. Our data is the number-one important driver for our company, so if that's not good, we have some big problems.""The feature that I have found the most valuable is the recovery and cleanup process. Suppose there is a list of test cases and one test case has failed, it should not impact the other test cases. We can reuse the same test case. We can change the configuration of parameters and then use the test cases on the same thing. So, that's a useful thing. Otherwise, we have to use the cleanup process. Another useful feature is to have our own library files. We can create our objects in the libraries and reuse them. There is no need to create duplicate data for that. They have been giving some enhancements recently which means integration is also there. They've integrated with different software like Jenkins, Bamboo. So, we can also create pipeline points. They have recently given SAP and everything, which is very useful.""We have multiple applications, and it supports parallel execution. It has mobile automation.""This solution is easy to use for everybody, including those who are not IT-educated.""The solution has plenty of features compared to other solutions."

Cons
"With TestRail, the APIs are there, but they may not be able to easily integrate with the Jenkins.""I've encountered at some point, some difficulties on the administration side, but I don't remember exactly what they were.""TestRail by Gurock could improve by adding a defect management module tool. It would add a lot of value if I want to install it and I don't have Jira or an isolating team. For example, if I am providing a service it's separated from the development team, it then would be better to have defect management included with the test management. However, as it is now I need to be integrated with Jira or another defect management tool to complete the testing process.""TestRail should improve its pricing.""I have faced some issues with the integration between TestRail and Jira, which haven't been permanently resolved yet.""It's not easy to create a custom report. It's not straightforward. A good improvement would be if there was a way to report and create a custom report without using a plugin or scripting language.""Their customer support could be improved. Sometimes we struggle with that. It could be faster. Whenever we raise any query, they get back to you but the turnaround time is very slow.""TestRail's user interface is not great. When you use it for the first time, you will be very uncomfortable and not know how to create test cases. It doesn't have a field for preconditions and post-conditions."

More TestRail Cons →

"It requires some coding customization that requires expertise.""I would like a better user interface.""Tricentis Tosca’s technical support could be improved.""ScratchBook execution needs to be improved as Tosca crashes multiple times.""Setup wasn't that straightforward; it was more complex. It all depends on the environment, because there were a lot of errors on our applications. Therefore, it wasn't an easy setup for us.""A disadvantage of Tricentis Tosca is that you have to customize it according to your need, during the early stages of the software, particularly during upstream testing, before system and unit testing.""Running the regression – if multiple lists are executed at once or if a list contains 200+ tests, it’s a pain to stop the execution.""It would be of great help if they can fix the loading or performance issues. Sometimes, when I create the test case folder and test cases, it feels like it has loading or performance issues. When passing the objects, we can't sometimes find the exact element. We need to find out that exact location and just give the path for that, and then it works. In the pipeline, when creating Jenkins, we create the list execution for passing the execution list to the commander. I feel it is a bit late, by a fraction of seconds. I first thought it could be my mistake or a setting issue, but I worked on that, and it's not a mistake or a setting issue."
