"The data source is the most valuable feature as it can perform any function.""Ask Zia is a great feature that I use to quickly decide what improvements I need to make in order to present the data that I want to show.""I like the way I can share dashboards and embed dashboards. I normally use embedding. So, I create a dashboard, and I embed it into specific websites. Sharing of the dashboard is seamless, and it is easier than any other visualization platform, even Tableau.""It's a very strong analytics tool.""The front end of this solution including the graph generation using SQL has been most useful.""We can create advanced-level reports with the tool. We can get data from different Zoho applications and also from other third-party applications. We can create schedules for syncing data from third parties to Zoho Analytics. We can also use table queries for getting data from more than one table.""We use the solution for financial and sales analytics. It brings data from our IT incident management tool. Hence, we have three business use cases for IT support, sales and financials.""Zoho Analytics is the best software for giving reports to customers and we can create any report that is required."

Cons
"A better focus should be put on self-service reporting.""Currently, JSON format is the main format we use, however, in TIBCO Jaspersoft, XML format is the default and JSON did not work because TIBCO did not fix it.""We'd like to see the community version offer a little bit more support and better documentation and we'd like the enterprise edition to have better pricing.""The Ad Hoc Report Writer does not include as many features as Tableau and needs to be improved to meet expectations.""The reporting templates have room for improvement.""Customization is an area with certain shortcomings in the solution that needs improvement.""I would like to see some analysis done prior to data extraction. The data extraction itself could also be improved.""The upgrades are not easy."

More TIBCO Jaspersoft Cons →

"The tool needs to improve analysis and add more features.""The solution does not provide call center facilities for customer support.""In terms of improvement, they have a limited number of graphs available in their store. They should come up with more graph style forms. They should have more charts and at the same time, you can't create panels like with Microsoft BA.""The platform's pricing needs improvement.""A higher degree of artificial intelligence could be included in this solution. The data and overall insights could be improved.""I like the solution's Query Table feature which helps me write SQL queries. We can get data from different tables and then use it to create reports.""The navigation on the interface is not intuitive.""This solution does not support manufacturing facilities."

Any company (be it technology, manfucaturing, human resource, ecommerce, SME etc) always has the need for Business Intelligence to some or the other extent. If cost is one of the consideration factor, then the 2 BI tools which are at the forefront are Pentaho and Jaspersoft. But, often the same companies are caught up in an imbrogilo as to which tool to use, what are the technology/and end business user wise differences/ do i actually need to purchase commercial edition, is there any work around etc. Differences :- In the below mentioned points, I have tried to cover functionality wise the differences a. Reports :- Jaspersoft is known for its picture pixel perfect reporting. Jasper uses ireport for designing the reports. Hence, for having reports, Jaspersoft is the most ideal candidate. Pentaho uses Pentaho Report Designer. b. Dashboards :- Pentaho provides much more capabililties, interactivity in terms of dashboards. Dashboards designed in Pentaho are far more superior in functionality, aesthetically as compared to Jaspersoft. Pentaho CE uses CDE/CDF, Pentaho EE uses PDD . Dashboard functionality is present only in the Enterprise edition of Jaspersoft. c. Pentaho is having an intermediate layer known as Xactions & hence providing much more flexibility in terms of plugin designing, integration with applications, having out of box experience etc. Xactions supports scripting and scheduling of scripts execution. Jaspersoft dosent provide that much of flexibility in terms of… Read more →
