Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The best feature is to be able to share the screen or just some application we want, even a video or audio, then request the remote control of the device with which they have connected.""The most valuable option is screen sharing.""They have a feature called Call Me in which I need to type in my phone number and I can get a conference room to call my number rather than needing to dial in every time. I think that's a quite good feature.""We can easily connect the device and create a room and then we can call many devices.""The most valuable aspect of this solution is that it is the easiest for participants to get connected to.""What we like about Webex is that it is a hosted solution, so there is no demand for us to invest in hardware, skill, or manpower to maintain our cloud meeting capability.""The ability to join by phone is the most valuable feature. I also think that it's much simpler to use and it's a Cisco product so I think it's the industry standard.""The most valuable feature is the ease of use."

"The best thing about Zoom is that it is very easy to use.""The most valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use.""One of the biggest features of Zoom is its stability.""The interface makes it simple to use.""Zoom is stable and easy to use.""It allows for both support and communication at the same time.""The most valuable feature is the remote desktop because sometimes we have to intervene and control the client's infrastructure.""It is very quick to get a meeting started."

Cons
"The modification of the email template is not very intuitive.""I would like to see the addition of new features that will add value to the product.""My company does a lot of international calls. For some countries they do not have their local number to call in, all they have is a 1-800 number which is quite hard to find. If they want to improve they should set up the local number to call in. What would be beneficial.""The UX should be more user-friendly. I know others don't like the UX because it's a little complicated to use.""I would like for them to include a collaboration tool so that you can directly do a video call or audio call to your colleagues or anyone in the office.""Better integration with other solutions would benefit Webex.""The connectivity can be improved because sometimes when we talk to clients that are overseas the connection is kind of poor. The video will be pixelated and we will need to turn off the video because the voice gets delayed.""We have had issues where some of the invited participants are not able to join the meeting."

"It is important for us to have Zoom integration with our Active Directory environment.""It takes time to acclimate end users to the product.""In the future, I would like to see remote access control for other computers.""Having easier access to recorded meetings, being able to download them fast, and playing them back would be helpful.""When a lot of people join a meeting it is not possible to shrink the pictures and show them on a single screen.""When sharing a screen, it's only dedicated to one particular window, not multiple windows""I would like to be able to have multiple users open and collaborate on a document at the same time.""Technical support is in need of improvement."

If you're looking for just a basic meeting tool, Zoom will do just fine. You can also share your screen as well as choose the option to share presentations ( in your case, its the Digital manual).
Cisco Webex is more for making video calls but some use it for training as well due to the fact that it was already used but I have experienced some latency (lag) with it. Anyone in the group viewing may correct me on this one.
In terms of popularity, its Zoom and webex which are the most popular tools
Blackboard and Adobe connect are more considered the virtual classroom technologies for teaching. They have many advanced features offering multi-classroom features which encourage students to engage differently.
They are far less popular than zoom or webex.

According to your requirements, I would encourage you to go towards Zoom. You can start by the free version and upgrade to the pro version depending on your requirements

Also, it works seamlessly on laptop, IOS and Android devices
Hope this helps.
Also, note that this was a quick review and we are doing a more comprehensive review based on a per -component basis.

My comments about Zoom:

The Pros:

- It allows you to schedule any meeting and invites your meeting members at a particular date & time with Meeting Id & Password.
- It allows organizing multiple meetings, to carry out online meetings, file sharing, webinars & group messaging.

- Through the Zoom application, users are given the option to connect to more than one conference room, include more attendees remotely, and conduct face-to-face meetings.
- Zoom offers both native mobile (iOS & Andrioid)and desktop versions that let users collaborate & connect remotely.
- It allows us to record video chat and look at them at a later date & time.
- Whiteboard is a good feature for having a meeting in which everyone can join to type or draw, and write.
If we have a brainstorming-type meeting, we can share our own ideas with the whiteboard.
- Zoom recently implemented a Microsoft Office add-in, which means we can now schedule Zoom meetings without having to go into the Zoom app.

The Cons (from my experience using in Melbourne, Australia):

- Have encountered Slow response sometimes when participants are joining from different geographical locations.

- The Free Version allows having a conference call for 40 minutes. Price could be an issue for the Paid Version.
