What do you think of Nutanix?

Primary Use Case: Currently, we are using it for our VMware workstation. We use it to host our non-production servers. • Improvements to My Organization: It has seamless expandability. • Valuable Features: Their Google operating system is more mature, so their results are much better. • Room for Improvement: I don't feel that I am receiving the performance which I am paying for. We should have something called micro segmentation inside the Nutanix box, which can be easily implemented. They should support more VM, which is not currently supported. • Customer Service and Technical Support: The technical support is very good. • Initial Setup: The initial setup was straightforward. • Pricing, License Cost and Setup: The operating system is free.

What other advice do I have?

Be extremely careful if you want to use the iSCSI feature of the 3PAR. It was not designed for it initially. We were using low-end storage from HPE. I was hoping to get something a... more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

All features are out of the box. The license will be in the virtual, OS, or application layer.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Started with 14x 6110x to run OS and regular data and some SQL. Filled up the IO long before capacity. Split up the... more»

What other advice do I have?

Do not go for EQL. It will be out of production in a few years. Dell EMC Unity is a much better option for price,... more»
