What is most valuable?

SFP, speed, and 10-Gigabit are the most valuable aspects of this solution. We're an architecture firm and we sometimes deal with large files. Anything we can do to eke out… more »

How has it helped my organization?

It has improved my organization because now the entire network is quicker. A lot of users tell me that things seem faster but they can't really elaborate. My guess is… more »

What needs improvement?

The feature to change settings on the switch needs improvement. I understand why it's there, I can change the settings on the switch and I have to actually hit save to… more »

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Technology keeps changing so you don't need to buy something that's going to last 100 years. Buy something that you know you're going to have to replace in five or 10… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

NETGEAR replaced some Nortel switches that were about 11 years old. They were end of life and they were not as fast. I had gigabit and 100 megabits switches. I am hoping… more »

What other advice do I have?

My advice would be: Don't rush it. Give yourself time between getting the switch and putting it in. That helped me do this properly. Have patience. Read the documentation… more »

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Cisco, Juniper, Dell, and HP but they were all nearly twice the price of NETGEAR. I also had some hesitation to some. There seems to be some hesitation by… more »

What needs improvement?

I think this solution could be improved if the installation could be made more secure. From our point of view, HP could have SNMP product softwares that would allow us to track all the assets, and then to connect, to identify our equipment. There are options which would allow us to secure the equipment. I think with the enterprise solution, if it's HP, then there is a need to integrate it with an… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used IBM but they gave up on those products and sold the PC and printer business. We started using HP before that happened.

What other advice do I have?

There's the familiarity factor for us. It's something that we hold on to. If you know the product is stable, and it's not outdated then you'll continue to use it. I think it's on par with other vendors like Dell. I'm very satisfied with everything. I've been using HP for a long time already and I think it's quite reliable, even my printer is HP. I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are virtualization and micro-segmentation.

What needs improvement?

The user interface needs a lot of improvement. The enterprise-level and data center products need to be improved. The command-line interface could be more user-friendly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of Linksys products is pretty reasonable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked with multiple switches from multiple vendors. These include Cisco enterprise-level switches like the Catalyst and the 6500 series. I have worked with Acer routers, HP enterprise-level switches, Dell S-series and N-series… more »

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody who is considering this product is that it is well-suited for home uses and small businesses. My only complaints are about the user interface and the stacking capabilities. I would rate this solution an eight out of… more »
