What is most valuable? The most valuable feature for us was the time to delivery. We had a short window of about three months to implement because we had in incoming residence group of about a… more»
How has it helped my organization? One of the big benefits of using this solution is security. It allows us to authorize our residents to come in using their own personal devices to access any of our… more»
What needs improvement? One of the challenges we have with Cisco, in general, is the multiple management platforms for the UCS, and I would like to see it all under one umbrella. If we could have… more»
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? One of the challenges we have with HyperFlex is that they have a subscription fee for the operating system that runs on it, and if I remember correctly, it costs… more»
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?Prior to this, we were using Cisco B200 Blade Servers for our normal VMR infrastructure, and we when we wanted to implement VDI we wanted to go hyper-convergence.
What other advice do I have?My advice to anybody who is researching this solution is to have an understanding of the ROI. It is easy to jump in and see great technology, but you need to know what the… more»
Which other solutions did I evaluate? We looked at everybody including Dell, HP, Cisco, and Nutanix. As we ferried through them we were much more comfortable with the Cisco product line, and that's why we… more»
Review of Pivot3

What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is the ease of implementation. This solution is easy to use and the interface has improved since the previous version.
What needs improvement?Marketing needs improvement. There is not a lot of public awareness of this solution or update release notifications. There is no communication from the vendor to advise us of the next product release. We want to know what is happening with Pivot3, what are they coming up with next, as well as what… more»
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We used multiple products. There are some stand-alone products and services, but when it comes to a hyper-converged infrastructure, the first solution that was purchase was Pivot2, then EMC, Dell EMC, and VxRail. The main difference between Pivot3 and other comparable solutions is the price.
What other advice do I have?Since this is a hyper-converged product, we don't do a lot in the way of integration with this solution with other products on the application side, but we have integrated with Dell Switches, character switches, and it was competitively fine. We are partners, gold partners with Microsoft and we do… more»

What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is the quick restore.
How has it helped my organization? We had an incident once where one of our primary servers in a retail store went down. It took us less than a second to do a restore. It came back up and we were up and running. It used to take us days… more»
What needs improvement? There is room for improvement in that there is a need for so many Federation nodes. It would help if they increased that capacity so that we didn't have to have so much hardware in our secondary site.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We were running on antiquated equipment and older solutions that required a lot more hands-on work. We used a piecemeal solution. We had two Dell servers and a VNXe storage unit and we backed it up… more»
What other advice do I have?If you're a retail company that has a bunch of stores, I would actually highly recommend this for your stores - for the simplicity of it, the ease of the restores, and keeping your environment up and… more»
Which other solutions did I evaluate? Our shortlist included Dell and Commvault. We chose Simplivity for the simplicity of the way it works and the true hybrid converged appliance which was there. We didn't have to buy a bunch of… more»
