We reviewed the maps as a team and determined if any changes needed to be made or if we could just replace APs as they are. We got into this by upgrading our access points to Meraki, and we wanted to make sure that we weren't leaving trouble behind us as we were doing it.

I like that our users can send us a floor map. Sometimes it's not feasible to travel to another country where the users are based. So, the floor map is very useful. It's a fantastic product.

Ekahau is user-friendly. It takes just thirty minutes to install the software, kickstart your current plan, and evaluate the Wi-Fi coverage in the area. Initially, when we first bought the software, we relied on manual setup. We used Google and YouTube to learn how to set it up initially. It's very accurate. It can detect all Wi-Fi devices operating at both 2.4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz frequencies. With it, you'll know which devices are interfering with your signal. It's an incredibly accurate tool for assessing Wi-Fi networks.

I have found all of the features useful, depending on which phase we're looking for. The planning feature is useful because it's very affordable. The planning feature permits us to import the DWG file and get the old wall inside of it.

The building feature is also useful because it can be done layer by layer and floor by floor, not only in the planning site.

The ability to perform dual-band spectrum analysis while conducting the standard wifi site survey is a tremendous time saver. The built-in battery allows us to survey longer without stopping for power.

I don't handle the software that much. I'll do some of the testing with our CTO. It is primarily him and I. He has commented before that he likes the fact that with two licenses, we can set it up so that when we're on a large facility, he can see where I am and I can see where he is. That's for sure is very handy in large venues.

Recent upgrades allows opacity view on the heat maps, allowing the floor plan to have better visibility. What I like is that Ekahau regularly takes the advice of real users and categorizes these point and adds them in product version releases. In other words, Ekahau really listens to their customers!

I have found the most valuable feature is the RF interference and integration capabilities. While upgrading or adding on different hardware to a solution you need to use propriety hardware from the manufacturer sometimes for it to be compatible, this solution integrates well with other hardware. Additionally, the solution is reliable and has a high percentage of accuracy.
