Epicor ERP Scalability

Epicor scales very well. It is a tier 2 solution, so you do not tend to see it in multi-billion dollar companies. It is common to see it in firms ranging from $25M to $500M. They do have a few accounts in the $1B space. All that being said, it is not really the revenue that drives the choice. It is the user count and what the users need the system for that often matters. The other factor is how well the ERP vendor matches with the firm in terms of its support. Tier 1 providers such as SAP and Oracle have organizations built to work with companies that have a substantial number of personnel. For example, there is an expectation that you have a DBA or two on staff in addition to other various specialists in your IT department and that these people will work with equivalents in their organizations. Epicor can benefit from working with companies of this scale, but their organization is not built this way. View full review »
