What is most valuable?

Centralized, full-featured DNS.

How has it helped my organization?

I have not used it at my current organization, but in the past I have used it to bring enterprise-grade features to my small business clients at low or no cost.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes their more advanced caching tools can cause higher first-byte times and problems with JavaScript. They also lack a good way to manage DNS as a company, since everything is relegated to single account logins until you get to the... more»

What do you think of HAProxy ?

Valuable Features The cluster feature. I use it for my second informatic room. • Improvements to My Organization Four days ago, I had an inundation in my informatic room, and there was no interruption of service, because HAProxy is an excellent cluster solution. • Room for Improvement While the product is quite perfect, it could use more supervision and be more active. What is most valuable?

Most important for us that it makes sure that the load is distributed and that we always have access to the end-servers that they're connected to. We need that to make sure that we have a consistent, high level of service that the schools can rely on.

How has it helped my organization?

It was part of a project that we did where we used to outsource all of the web-filtering to a third party. We weren't very happy with it. We wanted to bring everything in-house, control the system ourselves. This is an absolute key component to being able to allow us to do that.
