We used an in-house team to do the deployment of this solution.

We required a consultant for the implementation of Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention. I do the maintenance and support for the solution.

We used an integrator to implement this solution.

There are five people in our technical team handling deployment and maintenance of this solution. 

An integrator helped us, somebody who deals with Forcepoint products. There were no problems with that, although they were billing by time and the system is a little complex.

We are Forcepoint partners. So as much as we sell the products, we have the technical skill sets to implement the solution.

We worked with a local reseller, Performanta.

Their skills were meant to be the best in the country but it left a lot to be desired. We had to use the UK offices and that's a challenge with most of the organizations in South Africa. With big vendors, South Africa is a small market, so the investment in South Africa is not what it should be. Understanding, managing, and integrating products needs to be improved, in general.

For deployment, there were eight of us in total. Two were engineers, there were four analysts because we had to write the business rules and document them, there was a project manager and a few others.

Maintenance is being done by the client, in-house. They have two engineers that are responsible for it, and they have purchased support from the local providers.

The solution's support assisted us throughout the deployment process.

We are still working on deployment. It's going to take two to two and a half years. 

It all depends on the political climate that we're in. We are not a normal state agency. We do not have one constituency group, we have multiple constituency groups. We license vehicles, drivers, and professionals, such as lawyers, attorneys, landscapers, architects, etc.

In addition to all of that, we also have a lot of partnerships with law enforcement agencies, courts, lawyers, and insurance companies, so we do a lot of highly technical security programming here. 

We don't just throw it out. We are methodical in how we do this.

We didn't use an integrator reseller or consultant for the deployment. We are doing it our selves.

The deployment was on a third-party server. We handled the deployment itself in-house using our own personnel. 

We implemented the solution ourselves with the help of technical support. They had people that were trained in the prcoess.

We have a team of three people who are certified in implementing the solution.

The deployment was completed in-house.

We are service providers. We implement this solution for our clients and provide support.

We did the deployment of the solution with the help of our own team. I was not directly involved.  

Most of the time we handle the deployment for our customers. If something is not working properly, such as not getting the proper data or traffic, then we contact Forcepoint for support.

The size of the deployment team can vary. One company could require one admin to check the logs every day and another could need to check only once a week. It depends on the department — DLP is complex.

I do try to handle the implementations myself, but I also have a list of consultants that can assist as necessary. Forcepoint has very good documentation I can reference if I need to, which has been very helpful during implementations.

We implemented it ourselves. 

An integrator helped us with deployment. If it's a basic environment, deployment should only take a week. Post-deployment is the biggest issue. Roughly 80% of DLP policies and work is not IT related. Some customers don't have these policies in place, so they don't even know how to transform them into automated policies. Unfortunately, many people don't have the IT knowledge to transform these security policies into automated policies. This can really draw out the post-deployment time.
