Forcepoint has a unique fingerprinting technology. We set a policy and as soon as a document goes into the repository, the policy applies. When I receive a document from my MD and want it to remain within the organization, I move it into a repository and it's viewed as sensitive. It's an efficient way to ensure that documents are safe. DLP ensures that data doesn't flow out.

I would also add that the predefining feature is a very simple process. You pick your industry, add the email, choose your country, populate the type of policies that suit your region, and your industry, and then you can choose what to block and what to allow.

In general, Forcepoint is miles ahead of its competitors. The closest similar solution would be Symantec, but they're still miles behind.

Forcepoint DLP's most valuable feature is that it provides complete end-to-end security. It gives us an understanding of any violation happening in the network or via endpoint.

Forcepoint has out-of-the-box rules and policies for PCI DSS and GDPR compliance. The compliance features are easy to deploy and implement. If your data is not classified, you need to do that first, but the functionality is out-of-the-box otherwise.

Forcepoint offers many policies that conform to global DLP best practices, including requirements specific to regions like the Middle East, Europe, etc. They have a policy database in their product. That feature is unique to Forcepoint. Their AI and fingerprinting are incredibly effective and robust. We have tested it multiple times. It always catches the correct data being leaked.

One of the most valuable features is being able to see file movement, where files are going. Every week we review the files. It can identify software codes, so we code files and we know where they're going and who's doing what. It gives us visibility. It shows any key files, any strange behaviors, such as if somebody is taking too many screenshots, and alerts us about that.

Among the most valuable features are the

  • network DLP, which has two components
  • DLP agent installed on endpoints
  • discovery, as it covers the endpoints and shared folders on servers.

These features are important for control. A main part of DLP is its use as a tool that provides different layers of controls.

The Forcepoint tool is well developed. It is ranked in many evaluations at the top when it comes to enterprise DLP solutions. It has good artificial intelligence that enables our customers to focus on specific incidents, instead of having a complicated list of uncategorized incidents.

Some of the built-in rules, templates, and content classifiers are among the most valuable features. Some of the built-in patterns are good places to get started with. Along with the phrases, they are helpful in putting together policies and fine-tuning our policies. A good example of that would be certain kinds of credit card data. They have a lot of algorithms available to fine-tune what exactly you're looking for, whether it be credit cards from Mexico, or US credit cards, et cetera. They have a good database of those types of predefined algorithms, ways to detect things, and the specific information you're looking for.

These features are valuable because they work and seem to be picking up the right data. They seem accurate. It's also convenient to be able to choose them and not have to figure it out myself or create my own. That goes a long way toward fine-tuning our policies.

Some good features are basically its UAV Analytics engine. And even fingerprinting is really good in Forcepoint.

Forcepoint recently released an in-line proxy feature, which is a great addition. Previously, users had to add an extension to their browsers, but now that's not necessary. Now, that extension is not needed.

I like the product's integration at the network layer, which allows for integration with other vendors' security solutions as long as they are compatible with ICAP integration. For example, integrating DLP with web security or email security solutions. This flexibility is a valuable feature for me as it allows for more efficient use of the product, without necessarily requiring the use of all of Forcepoint's products.

The feature with which the solution integrates with the proxy, the ICAP protocol that logs the inline traffic or real-time traffic, is valuable.

The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality is another helpful feature, especially for unstructured data. Being able to discover sensitive data in an unstructured format is the most beneficial element of the solution.

We can add tags to table format or Excel documents, such as ''confidential'' or ''sensitive information'', and the DLP suite takes action according to the defined policy for each tag.

The product is interesting. It meets our needs very well. It's the best solution when compared to Symantec, for example. We have both ForcePoint and Gartner as well and it's a leader among similar solutions.

The solution offers very good sensitive data protection.

The solution is excellent at protecting strategic information. I deployed it when I was working in the petrol industry for an oil and gas group. It was the biggest one in Morocco. We held important information about critical activities, including providing gas and oxygen for the hospital. We were considered critical IT and we had to comply with the operative elective and the law. DLP helped us to protect our data and we improved our safety in order to comply with the law and existing regulations.

With OCR and Risk Analysis, we are able to determine if anything sensitive is been shared. OCR helps us to safeguard those things and with risk ranking, we can determine which user is trying to violate policies multiple times even though they have been blocked to him or her. It does require additional servers, as the processing and result of the incident is high, however, it's worth using to see all the use cases being met with these two features as well. They are the best features provided by Forcepoint.

The good side of the Forcepoint DLP is integrating with the end user behavior dynamically.

The formation level defining a DLP has become a very static form. In the case of Forcepoint, if it is possible to implement it, they integrate with the end user behavior analytics and then dynamically can run which documents should go to home. This is the most fascinating part.

The integration is great. It's good for dynamically assigning the volume and dynamically blocking some points based on the behavior change.

One of the most valuable features is the set of built-in policies that Forcepoint has for PCI compliance. We just need to activate them and start working. Without them, it would be a big task to do a data transformation. Another advantage is that Forcepoint also updates these policies. If there is a new control for PCI compliance, Forcepoint updates it in its system and it can be downloaded.

Forcepoint is also easy to use and manage.

One of the features I find most valuable is that it is very easy to install. Secondly, it has a very deep reporting mechanism, so it can give you a very detailed report. Then, thirdly, it gives you protection, either at the endpoint, at the network level, and also at the server level. Which also includes the endpoint.

It can also easily be integrated into the data cloud protection and be integrated with cloud protection software or application. This gives us wide visibility and control over our network, for both inbound and outbound data.

Another valuable feature is that it provides integration to things like Cloud Access Security Broker, which provides security around cloud applications.

It also gives integration with SIEM solution, which means that from a SIEM, you'll be able to actually see what is happening around your data. It has some very unique capabilities, such as optical character recognition and custom encryption identification. It has an out of the box library of templates, which enables you to easily set it up and deploy, making it possible for you to identify and stop data theft. You can even integrate it to your email if you want to extend it, where you can actually have DLP around the email and not just around the web and network.
