It's about $160,000, but I'm not sure how long that is for or what it includes. Because we were a test base, we were provided with servers, but now, Forescout wants us to buy servers because those servers are now end-of-life or end-of-service. For our lifecycle management program, in order to get a refresh on those servers, we would have to buy servers or use our own network resources to house Forescout. Forescout takes up about 13 or 14 virtual CPUs. The RAM and other things are quite similar to ISE. I don't know if it's as demanding as ISE, but the hardware and software requirements for both products are quite similar.

ISE is probably more expensive. Our network is about 22,000 endpoint devices. So, three years with 25,000 endpoint devices with ISE was about $363,000. With Forescout, we're only paying $160,000, but I don't know if that's for a year. I know the last time we were provided Forescout licenses was probably four years ago, maybe even longer. We had purchased it, but the people who were involved in setting up Forescout had left and gone to another assignment. We didn't even know that we had Forescout. The servers were sitting on our server floor for probably a year and a half before we were finally like, "Hey, what's this?" We dug into it a little bit, found the contract, and then we were able to contact Forescout and get the vendors to come out and help us set them up and get Forescout running. Because we spent about $140,000 last time, it's going to be $160,000 now, but I'm not sure if that's a four or five-year contract. I'm not sure how long that contract would be for.

It is expensive and there are extra costs for the support.

The price depends on your environment. We do get a discount.

It is expensive because you have to pay for their CSM, the customer's access manager, and their professional services on top of that, and they charge you roughly $400 per hour, which is overhead. I find it to be expensive.

I don't have pricing information.

There are no additional costs that I am aware of.

The solution is not priced low. There are no hidden costs.

I rate the price of the Forescout Platform a seven out of ten.

Forescout Platform isn't cheap, but it's the best solution for the environment I'm dealing with. We paid between $20,000 and $25,000 for a three-year license with maintenance.

The price of the solution is reasonable. We have paid for the license for five years. We have integration with Symantec AV for orchestration, and we have an additional license.

The price could be reduced. During COVID, many offices switched to remote work, but you still need to pay the same cost to renew the license even though workers are connecting remotely through one VPN.

We need to pay for integration for each integration that we want to do and there is an additional license fee. This adds more costs. It is not something that anyone can afford. If you want to integrate this with a lot of other tools, it can be costly.

The initial cost of the Forescout Platform was $200,000 for three years. There are only additional costs for upgrades.

The product's pricing is reasonable. Considering the deployment or the professional service, on the other side, along with the basic service, which was a bit technical, with the product and the licenses, Forescout Platform can compete with other products.

You can have a flexible license depending on your environment.

The pricing structure should be enhanced.

It might not be the cheapest solution, but you get what you pay for.

Forescout Platform is on the expensive side.

Licensing is per endpoint that uses a discrete IP address. Licenses are perpetual but can come with renewable support. The product is complex so do not skimp on training, certification, and professional services.

We have a very clear licensing model for business. I don't have to have a Ph.D. to be able to understand the licensing model as you might need for other solutions. If I know exactly what we want, it can tell you which license you need. The solution is easy for purchasing, ordering, and ease of deployment as well.

As a managed service provider and system integrator, we are on an annual licensing model.

The solution is very expensive. 

The price is based on the number of endpoints and is an annual cost. For one license, we pay around 3,000 Indian rupees.

If you keep adding endpoints, the price keeps going up. Even if one user has three endpoints, you are paying for each endpoint, not per user. 

The cost of the solution is about 5000 South African rands per year for ten users. That's about $320 USD. If you want to increase usage, you can easily scale, you just pay more. 

I'd rate the solution four out of ten in terms of affordability. 

The licenses are quite expensive. Ultimately, we couldn't afford the amount we needed, and therefore we are moving off the product.

We might have paid in the ballpark of $20,000 yearly for our licenses. I do not recall there being other fees over and above the standard licensing fee.

We went with the virtual appliance option. The biggest cost to running these types of appliances would be to either have multiple virtual appliances at every data center or running Remote SPAN hardware to provide you the real-time network visibility.

Forescout's flex licensing has made our deployment more agile and helps us adapt our environment without buying more hardware.  

Under their old model, licensing was tied to 4k and 10k appliances which strained under the new v7 and v8 Forescout OS when nearing their designed capacity.  To acquire a new appliance, physical or virtual, meant buying licensing for that size of appliance.

Under the new flex licensing model, we've been able to deploy VM appliances, responsible for host interrogation and management, while retaining our physical appliances for SNMP switch management, and span aggregation.  

Under the flex licencing model, we've deployed to our ICS segments, and are deploying VMs to our DCS environment, allowing for full visibility under one 'pane of glass' of nearly every host on our network.

Ensure you consider everything you want to monitor that has an IP. Devices with multiple IP's count multiple times against your license count.

Forescout Platform licenses include everything integrated into the system including eyesight, recovery, and valid license. All three come in one box. It is a very competitive product, being half the price of its competitors.

5,000 user licenses will cost you between seven and eight million dollars, compared to 20 million for Aruba.

The price of Forescout is reasonable when compared to Cisco ISE.

The price of the Forescout Platform is expensive. I purchased it for approximately 94 lakhs.

I would rate Forescout Platform's pricing as four out of five.

Forescout is affordable in terms of the end goal, which is control. We only looked at it in terms of discovery modes and I think it's too expensive to use for that purpose alone. We took a package, managed by British Telecom, which gave us some additional services without additional costs. 

The fact that we were allowed to spin up as many servers as we had need of to support our geographic requirements while paying for licensing as an enterprise truly set Forescout apart from the crowd and improved the way we could design our access.

They base the license on the number of devices, which is quite misleading. If I am one user, it should be based on that rather than how many devices I use with the same user name. 

To base it on the number of devices it can reduce one more license from my overall license allotment. It can result in four or five licenses for one user.

The pricing is very important in Sri Lanka. We're sensitive to pricing. We'd like it if the solution was more clear on their pricing and if they were able to lower it.

The setup cost, pricing, and licensing are on the high side.

The cost of licensing for this product is quite high, but this cost covers all the features of the solution so it is a single payment for the term that has been selected.

I have noticed that in the last year the license model has changed from licensing the whole appliance to licensing the number of devices. It's more simple for a large installation, or a user to have CounterACT as their peripheral site in the company. It's a good choice to have changed the license policy.

They are competitively priced for a medium-to-large sized organization.

The cost of the solution depends on the customer's requirement because the customer is asking for different integration with a different product. Forescout Platform's price would start to get a bit higher. However, overall the price is a little expensive. It's can fit within the customer budget.

I don't have details on the licensing costs or pricing because it changes frequently, and a different department deals with it.

Forescout is more expensive than Cisco because Cisco gives high discounts.

The pricing is really bad. We think that it's expensive. So the pricing part is expensive.

For pricing and licensing, CounterACT is not an overly expensive product. They can fit most of our customers' budgets.

The Forescout Device and Visibility Control Platform is quite expensive. I would recommend it depending on the environment, but I would tell them to look at things that depend on their environment. There is other software as well.

The product is expensive.

It is quite expensive, but there are specs for small companies as well.
