What is our primary use case?

We were using a tailored version of the solution built for us by Forter. If we needed to use new parameters, they'd upgrade for us. The solution is used for credit card purchases. You insert your card number, your address, and other details. Underneath, the system takes your IP, your connection details related to the browser, and whether you've connected from a tablet, phone, etc. All that information goes to Forter and enables us to know whether the user is trying to commit fraud. We are customers of Forter and I'm the lead developer. 

How has it helped my organization?

In terms of benefit to the company, it's not about increasing sales, but rather about reducing financial loss caused by fraudulent means. Information is gathered from a lot of places, and the solution provides notification if something isn't right. 

What is most valuable?

I'm happy with the hardware and software of this solution. Dashboards, customization and the analytics are all good, it's user friendly. The solution does a great job of picking up on fraudulent behavior.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see more granularity on the acceptance/rejection fraud options. The solution offers three possible options of fraud - accept, reject or not evaluate. Rather than accepting or rejecting someone without providing a reason or risk assessment, granularity could provide a percentage level of risk.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used this solution for over three years. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The traffic through the solution was stable, as was the product itself.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable. You can add more users onto it because they raise the level depending on the traffic that you give them. For instance, if I'm going to send 1,000 evaluations every minute and then 10,000 evaluations every minute, the solution needs to be able to adjust. For them, it was quite easy to scale. I was using this solution in a team of seven people. Maintenance was also carried out by the team. We worked with tickets and when we saw that there was a new version or we needed changes that required integration, anyone working on the team could do it.

How are customer service and technical support?

We didn't need to contact technical support because we had access to their Slack channel, a direct Slack channel with them. If I had any problems, I could message them and they replied almost instantly. If I needed to talk to them, I could have a Slack video call. The Slack channel is open to all their customers, and you have one person assigned to each company to give them support with the integration. The people were really nice. 

How was the initial setup?

Implementation was a little difficult because we were not prepared. We were not offering them all the values or the possible parameters that they needed, but it was our problem at that time. Implementation would be simple if I were doing it now. I have an integration with PayPal, with Worldpay, with a lot of payment gateways. The one with Forter was really, really easy. 

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution. 

I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.
