The apps are intuitive, easy to use, and highly responsive
Pros and Cons
  • "Everything is synchronized across every single device you use to access G Suite. That is why we like it."
  • "And I think Google Translate could add more features. For example, it could be integrated when typing in a document or a web browser like Grammarly."

What is our primary use case?

I mainly use G Suite for keeping notes and the calendar. I also use the productivity tools or applications that belong to G Suite and the free email service as well as the Chrome browser to search Google.

What is most valuable?

Everything is synchronized across every single device you use to access G Suite. That is why we like it. Also, the apps are intuitive, easy to use, and highly responsive. Gmail and the Chrome browser are the two tools we use the most. We also use Google Drive to upload and store files online.

Many of the other tools are useful. I often access YouTube for personal use, but I seldom use Google Maps because I prefer Waze. Instead, I use the translator and the tool for managing photos. I use Google Keep for taking notes and also Meet because, in the business world, you need to use various tools to host web conferences with customers, vendors, and for personal use. I don't use Google Hangouts, though.

What needs improvement?

I think Meet is not as well-positioned as Zoom. That application needs to be enhanced to make it more feature-rich and easy to use. It's easy and has all the essential features, but it's not as popular as Zoom. And I think Google Translate could add more features. For example, it could be integrated when typing in a document or a web browser like Grammarly. I use Grammarly to review the way I write English, and the services included in Grammarly are excellent. Or translation features could be embedded in all the Google applications. It would also be helpful to use translation offline when you are using a desktop, tablet, or cellphone that can't access the web.

For years, everyone has been expecting Google to add a real-time AI interpreting service where you can speak in your language, and Google translates it into other languages for other users. For example, you have a cellphone or web instant messaging integrated with free phone service. They could also use translation services to make it easier to communicate among people because not everyone knows exactly different languages. So I can speak in Spanish, and you understand me in English because you listen to me in English. And if you need to ask something because you are not clear about anything that I said, you can ask a question in your language, and I listen to you in my language.

It would be an excellent service for Google. They already have a global scope and their own platform. Google has an advantage because it is at the top of the internet services. They aren't the leader in all services, but they are well-positioned as the top searching engine. Google could seize other opportunities to develop and deploy some other services we are hoping for and make things easier for everybody.

For how long have I used the solution?

I don't know precisely how long, but we've been using G Suite for years. I think we've been using it since Google launched those services — before Google started branding this set of apps G Suite. I don't know when they decided to bundle their solutions into G Suite and Plus. Google is the leading provider of internet services, so of course, I use applications from Google.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

G Suite's performance is good. It's highly stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google has many data centers, and their services are in their cloud. The performance in all of their applications is excellent. I can't say a bad word about G Suite.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't ever needed to use Google support because everything works. I don't remember when Google has locked a service or went down due to a bug. So I think they produce excellent applications. They have an excellent approach to quality, testing, and user satisfaction. Google keeps things as simple as possible.

How was the initial setup?

G Suite applications are all web-based, so you do not have to download anything. It's simple compared to some other products.

What other advice do I have?

I rate G Suite nine out of 10. I highly recommend it. Google email services have been helpful for us. I worked for the second-largest public university in Costa Rica, and there was a need to have thousands of active email addresses. It's complex to configure all of them yourself and maintain an email server. Google email offered an effortless way to implement the email for more than 20,000 different addresses that needed to be opened every year. I would say Google Mail must be the most used application globally. Google Mail is a great application, and the service is suitable for personal or enterprise use.

A stable, secure, and seamless product that enables efficient communication and collaboration
Pros and Cons
  • "Google Chat is the most valuable feature of the solution."
  • "The product could improve the number of participants allowed in a meeting and the strength of the meetings."

What is our primary use case?

The product is a SaaS platform that helps us work remotely from anywhere in the world with just internet access. We can send emails and collaborate with friends. It is a secure workspace.

What is most valuable?

Google Chat is the most valuable feature of the solution. We can communicate with our domain users effectively. We can share documents and content and have quick meetings. We can collaborate with friends securely and seamlessly without downtime.

What needs improvement?

The product could improve the number of participants allowed in a meeting and the strength of the meetings. It can also improve the sending limit.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for the last four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is stable, secure, and seamless.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product is scalable. Around 400 users are using the product in our organization.

How are customer service and support?

I have asked many questions to the support team when there are any struggles with email deliveries. The support provided was satisfactory.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment is a lengthy process.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment process depends on the platform we use. If we had used a different platform before, we would have had to migrate users’ drive, email, and calendar data to Google Workspace. These processes then lead to change management because most users are unfamiliar with it. I don’t need staff members to deploy the solution.

The time taken for deployment depends on the user base. If there are 300 users, it can be done within 15 days. The solution does not require maintenance, but an administrator is required to manage the users, configurations, and policies.

What other advice do I have?

The product provides updates on a regular basis. We chose the product because Google is growing in its user base and security. The tool is easy to use, and we can leverage the product. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

The ability to create mail forwarding rules based on the subject line is very useful
Pros and Cons
  • "If I'm addressing certain emails from banks — automatic emails, like OTP, etc. — I can create rules and forward that OTP to the specific email IDs. You can create rules and deliver mail to different groups using the forwarding feature. It's handy."
  • "Google Mail's spam filter needs improvement. If I'm sending mail to another email user, sometimes it goes to the spam folder, and they won't know unless they check because they aren't seeing it in the primary inbox. They may miss important emails. At the same time, I'm receiving spam that shouldn't go to my inbox."

What is our primary use case?

We use G Suite to send daily operational emails for internal and external purposes.

How has it helped my organization?

If I'm addressing certain emails from banks — automatic emails, like OTP, etc. — I can create rules and forward that OTP to the specific email IDs. You can create rules and deliver mail to different groups using the forwarding feature. It's handy. If I'm getting a message from the bank about paycheck processing, I can forward it to every user who has asked about their paychecks.

When I'm away, I can automatically forward my email to another user taking over for me. A copy of the email goes to the second user, so they can take action in my absence. Any case IDs or other emails related to organizational requirements go to second-level people.

What is most valuable?

The best feature in G Suite is Google Mail forwarding and the ability to create rules based on the subject line. I found it very useful, and you can store additional data in Google Drive.

What needs improvement?

Google Mail's spam filter needs improvement. If I'm sending mail to another email user, sometimes it goes to the spam folder, and they won't know unless they check because they aren't seeing it in the primary inbox. They may miss important emails. At the same time, I'm receiving spam that shouldn't go to my inbox.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been dealing with G Suite and Google Mail for 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

G Suite is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

G Suite is scalable. You can add as much space as you want. We have more than 200 users working with it.

How are customer service and support?

We get technical support from a third-party provider, not Google, which is difficult to contact. That is one crucial area for improvement. Google should take care of this. They have a customer care number, but it isn't easy to get immediate service. Even though my company is a paid customer, we have to go through third-party vendors. We cannot contact Google when we have any issues. With Microsoft and other vendors, I can call them directly with any problems, but it's hard to contact Google when we need technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Yahoo Business Mail in the past, and they had the same problems with technical support as Google, but the storage costs were cheaper. It was 1 TB per user.

How was the initial setup?

The email setup is very easy. It took less than 10 minutes to create my email account and configure it.

What was our ROI?

G-Suite is a costly investment, but it is better than other solutions in terms of features, functions, usability, and uptime.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The license is based on the number of users, and it's annual. There aren't any additional costs. Sometimes we have automation people who need to access an email ID, so we allocate the old ID to the new employee.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have other solutions also, but they're not a user-friendly as Google Mail. Some of the features I wanted weren't present, so I didn't recommend these solutions for my organization.

What other advice do I have?

I rate G Suite nine out of 10. It is pretty good. Aside from a few small things, I don't have any issues.

Great search features, reliable storage, and it's quick thinking
Pros and Cons
  • "Good search features, reliable storage, and quick thinking."
  • "Expensive with a complicated licensing structure."

What is our primary use case?

I'm a customer of G Suite Enterprise and a user.

What is most valuable?

Personally, I find that Google meetings and the Hangout application are much easier to use than Microsoft Teams. If I send a customer a Zoom invite or a Google Hangouts invite, it's easier than joining a Teams meeting where an alternative account of mine might be chosen causing confusion. It means I have to close the program, exit everything, restart, log into the correct email address, and then rejoin. It's complicated. Hangouts is easy, and if you have more than one Google account, you can choose which account you wish to use. These days, more people work for more than one company, so it makes sense to be able to switch between accounts, depending on who you're engaging with.

What needs improvement?

I'd like to see some changes; working with images inside a doc can sometimes be irritating because it doesn't move the way you'd like. It lacks an auto-fill feature and when you drag down a number, it doesn't auto-fill. Alternatively, it assumes you want to add a digit onto a value that you don't really want. Microsoft has a copy option where you don't auto-fill, Google Sheets doesn't have that feature. The solution has a complicated licensing structure and it's expensive, especially for small businesses. Their Word and Excel packages are not as powerful as Microsoft, but not everybody needs that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable, I haven't had any bugs or issues. They're on top of it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Licensing is complicated, you can't just buy a license and have access to all the packages. You buy a license and get five packages, but then if you need something else it requires another license, it's annoying. I understand why they do it but as a small company, you might want to use the video once or twice a year and it requires purchasing a license for a year just for that. A per-use fee would be better.

What other advice do I have?

This solution has everything you need. It's got search features, it's got reliable storage, card features it's got quick thinking, it's awesome.

I rate this solution an eight out of 10.

A platform that requires very little technical expertise to use
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is easy to use, and you don't need a lot of knowledge for it."
  • "Google needs to improve its support."

What is most valuable?

The solution is easy to use, and you don't need a lot of knowledge for it. Also, if anyone changes a document in the workspace, you can set up messages telling you if someone changes a document.

What needs improvement?

Google needs to improve its support.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for around ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution's stability an eight out of ten because it can always be improved.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable since it's just software. We have about ten users in my company on the solution, and we plan to increase the number of users. We have people in IT, the manager, and the sales department using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

The quality of support depends because sometimes they are very fast. By contrast, if I want to change a registered number from mobile to landline, Google tells me it's impossible because it violates their rules. I must then send them proof that the landline belongs to the company. But I should be able to change it without questions since I own the account. I have a similar problem with changing the location because Google has set my location to the next building. I've tried five times already, but it only shows the proper building for 20 minutes before returning to the other one.

Tech support either doesn't answer requests, or you have to open a new ticket.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It took five minutes to deploy the solution. To deploy the solution, I needed to create a login, and then I got access to spreadsheets or any other documents.

What about the implementation team?

You don't need any IT people to deploy the service. You can do it yourself. In my company, two people in the IT department are looking at deployment and maintenance, helping with IT problems.

What other advice do I have?

Google Workspace is good for everybody. Everyone can participate in editing documents. Moreover, you don't have to send any documents. You just need to log into your Google account, and you will have access. Likewise, you can access documents from anywhere if you have the Internet.

I rate the solution an eight out of ten and recommend others use it.

Secure, stable, scalable, and easy to use
Pros and Cons
  • "Being able to back up our data on Google Drive is a critical and valuable feature for our customers. It is just in sync. Imagine you change a file on the desktop, and it gets updated directly to your Google Drive. Our laptop is completely in sync with Google Drive. Google Meet, Google Sheets, and Google Docs are also amazing products. They're very versatile and easy to use as compared to Office 365. • "There could be more options in Google G Suite. They can include HD calling for Google Meet. The layout portion in the calendar for Google G Suite can be better designed. When we get into the calendar and start scheduling meetings, we do have few hiccups here and there. The layout can be a little easier. People from different backgrounds are finding it a little bit tough to understand. It should be more intuitive. At the moment, it has a completely white background. To do power saving, it would be good if they can release a darker background. There are a few issues with the formatting of Google Docs when they get converted to Microsoft docs. It would be amazing if they can resolve it in the next release."

What is our primary use case?

We have different use cases. We have a set of people, like the executives and recruiters, who use G Suite for documentation, email, and everything. There is a separate set of people, like the leadership team, who use it just for emails. We also use Google Meet for team meetings. All our laptops are getting backed up to Google Drive. Google has covered everything in one shot.

What is most valuable?

Being able to back up our data on Google Drive is a critical and valuable feature for our customers. It is just in sync. Imagine you change a file on the desktop, and it gets updated directly to your Google Drive. Our laptop is completely in sync with Google Drive.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for the past three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable and reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. Scalability is the main feature of G Suite. We have somewhere close to 900 to 1,500 users who use it on a daily basis.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't contacted them. I'm an ISM, and my IT team was responsible for handling the hiccups that happened 45 days ago. When the server was down, they were in touch with the technical team.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't find it complex.

What about the implementation team?

I deployed it on my own. It is maintained on its own in the cloud.

Being an ISM, I regularly audit the logs for the G Suite to find out if we have any kind of hiccups. Around 45 days back, our server went down for almost eight hours. I could figure out through the logs why it was down and what was happening. It is not much work when it comes to the maintenance of G Suite.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I had started doing research from my side about what is G Suite and what other options we have for an enterprise solution. Coming from an IT background, it took me a day or so to understand what G Suite is. It did not take me long.

What other advice do I have?

From information security, that is, confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) as well as stability and reliability point of view, G Suite is the product to go for.

I would rate G Suite Enterprise a nine out of ten.

A stable and scalable solution for our emails, documents, and internal meetings
Pros and Cons
  • "It is quite a useful tool. It allows many people to work on a document. You can actually provide review comments and tag anybody to make the comment changes. You can also attach a document in Google Chat."
  • "We use Zoom most of the time for official meetings, and we use Google Meet only for internal meetings. I would like to get an improvised Google Meet. It would be good if they can make Google Meet more clear in communication and more scalable like Zoom."

What is our primary use case?

We are using the complete G Suite Enterprise. It includes Google Email, Google Drive, Google Meet, Google Docs, and Google Sites. For our internal meetings, we are using Google Meet. For our email services, Google Email is there, and for our documents, we use Google Drive Enterprise. We are using the latest version of G Suite Enterprise.

What is most valuable?

It is quite a useful tool. It allows many people to work on a document. You can actually provide review comments and tag anybody to make the comment changes. You can also attach a document in Google Chat.

What needs improvement?

We use Zoom most of the time for official meetings, and we use Google Meet only for internal meetings. I would like to get an improvised Google Meet. It would be good if they can make Google Meet more clear in communication and more scalable like Zoom.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Being a cloud solution, it is very scalable. We have around 1,000 or 1,200 users.

How are customer service and technical support?

There is very little requirement for technical support because the solution is scalable and flexible. We don't really require any offline support from them except when there is a downtime.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using our in-house exchange server for emails and document management. As we were growing, we needed a cloud-based solution.

How was the initial setup?

It is a cloud-based solution, so there is no on-premises installation.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend G Suite for everybody. We plan to keep using this solution.

I would rate G Suite Enterprise a ten out of ten.
