I use the open-source version of the product. I don't have experience with the licensed version of the solution.

There is a license model in place. It is accessible. 

The licensing fee for the entire WAF solution is very affordable with Loadbalancer.org. There are no separate charges for HAProxy and WAF.

HAProxy is mostly open-source, so I cannot provide any pricing or licensing numbers. 

We do not need to pay for the product as it is open-source. 

There's no additional cost. We can deploy and manage on our own, and community support is available in HAProxy.

HAProxy was very easy to script, but it had a learning curve back then. I am talking about four or five years ago. Once we gained our expertise on what we wanted to do with HAProxy, it was easier. We only used the open-source version of HAProxy for pricing.

I'm using the freeware version. I have no idea if there is a paid solution because I've never looked into it. I might in the future if I have a use case for it. But right now, I'm leveraging the free version, and it seems to fit well in this stack because I'm using the free Redis.

Very good value for the money. One of the simplest licensing schemes in this category of products.

Test/lab virtual machines can be installed without a licence. They can't be used for performance testing but otherwise behave like production nodes.

The price is well worth it. HAProxy Enterprise Edition paid for itself within months, simply due to the resiliency it brings. It was a bit more expensive than we were originally interested in paying, but we are thankful we chose to go with HAProxy.

Licensing costs are inexpensive. 

The setup was not difficult it usually takes a day to complete for a VPC.
When it comes to pricing HAProxy is free.

Compared to the others in the market, such as Citrix and F5, the cost per performance for Aloha appliances is extremely low. In our experience, the performance and reliability is better.

The solution is open source so is free. 

I think that the pricing is very fair, I would definitely recommend buying the Enterprise license.

The pricing is good compared to the other similar products.

We use NGINX as well. However, because the health checks are a paid feature, I like to avoid it whenever possible.

If you don't have expertise then go with the licensed version. Otherwise, open-source is the best solution.
