What is most valuable?
Managing StorPool is much simpler than our previous storage system, especially having a CLI option which our previous storage system was lacking.How has it helped my organization?
Due to the reliability of StorPool and the high level of support by StorPool staff, we expect to spend less system admin time to run and operate the solution. This will allow our technical staff to focus on other duties and projects.What needs improvement?
In terms of areas for improvements, honestly there is nothing we dislike. We have provided feedback on some desired features in the future but we like the system just as it is.

What do you think of EMC ViPR?
PART I During the recent EMCworld event in Las Vegas among other things, EMC announced ViPR (read announcement here). Note that this ViPR is not the same EMC Viper project from a few years ago that was focused on data footprint reduction (DFR) including dedupe. ViPR has been in the works for a couple of years taking a step back rethinking how storage is can be used going forward. ViPR is not a technology creation developed in a vacuum instead includes customer feedback, wants and needs. Its core themes are extensible, open and scalable. The analytic data that is reported using PernixData Architect is by far the best storage metrics we have been able to gather on our environment. PernixData FVP increased the performance of our legacy SAN while decreasing its load.How has it helped my organization?
