HPE ConvergedSystem Initial Setup

The initial setup was okay.
The solution is deployed on-premises.
It wouldn't be fair to comment on the time taken for deployment because we have very strict change management, so it would take us weeks and months to get a deployment done.

Deployment does not take more than a week to implement this product. Moreover, maintenance has to be a collaboration between the internally done resources to maintain that system.
Five to six people are required for maintenance.
View full review »I would rate the easiness of the initial setup of HPE ConvergedSystem as a seven out of ten. Initially, when the solution was introduced, an HPE engineer worked closely with me and guided the setup. Since then, I have been managing the environment independently, even handling capacity expansions with minimal assistance. The deployment time of the solution varies based on workload and specific needs. In my experience, with storage and six running systems, a well-planned deployment usually takes about one week for a smooth setup.

The initial setup process was neither easy nor difficult, as it is somewhere in the middle, but at times, it is difficult to make certain decisions. The availability of the product is high.
The deployment model of the product is chosen depending on the requirements of the customers, but our company does sea consultancy to figure out what the advantages and disadvantages of both deployment models are. The discussions mostly led my company to opt for a hybrid cloud deployment model.
It doesn't take more than two days to complete if the installation is only for a couple of systems, or else if there are multiple ways to decide, then the installation part depends on the rate type.
You need four resources to complete the deployment. Our deployment took two weeks to one month to complete. It is straightforward.

We were able to get our SAP HANA implementation partnership with HP in under 45 days, from going with absolutely a blank slate to having it implemented in production.
That’s a pretty incredible timeline when you think about it, in an organization that’s not conducive to accepting brand new technologies on the fly. We were able to do that and I think that is the key differentiator for us.
In that sense, we have delivered value. We are now able to maximize the value.

Setup was very complex, in terms of communication with them. At a certain point, we had to fly them there.

A warranty is provided to the customer. The customer can install the Enterprise ERP solution easily and has a good warranty, which includes HP's factory warranty and other conditions.

Initial setup is complex but not because HP is complex, but because the customer has a lot of integrations or components. When a customer buys Converged they have to eliminate the storage, the switch, and other components. It's difficult to implement correctly in that situation. The last implementation we did took a month but an earlier one took three months. Deployment time really depends on configuration.

The initial setup was complex because it was the first setup for that implementation engineer. He really struggled. We got to some points where there was no way forward. We searched online and found solutions and moved on.
In our previous environment, we were using fiber switches where you just plug in.
View full review »We are currently getting proposals. Either directly from HP or a reseller. We want an end-to-end solution and migration help. Proposals from other vendors don’t even come close to HP.
View full review »The complexity of the initial setup is dependant on the customer. I find that it is quite easy if you have all of the details, such as the IP addresses, raid volumes, and shared disks. The configuration is straightforward, although sometimes you have a complex scenario and you really have to tweak.

All of the activity concerning the initial setup was complex, as we are obliged to coordinate it with HP support.
