Provides the flexibility needed to scale storage and compute independently

What is our primary use case?

It's really about simplifying my infrastructure and getting myself to be cloud-enabled in a hybrid infrastructure so that I can move in and out of the cloud. That way, I can have a very easy-to-manage, intelligent infrastructure so I no longer have to worry about level one and level two calls. The storage is intelligent, it's taken care of itself. For example, if I want full-stack management, or I want to know if my virtual machines are being bad actors or noisy neighbors, or the firmware on my servers or hosts, or my hardware is all in good shape or if it has a predictive failure — I want to… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "The nice thing about it is that it truly integrates with the cloud, so I can move my volumes bi-directionally in and out of the cloud."
  • "Their documentation needs to be simpler to read yet more detailed so it's easy to compare models and easier for clients to pick."

What other advice do I have?

I hate talking about products. I think we should sit down and talk about what you are trying to do? What are your business goals? Because your business dictates to you what projects are important to them. What are they trying to accomplish? How do I help you accomplish those goals? A lot of times, what it comes down to is they don't have the time to do the infrastructure the way we used to do infrastructure. That's no longer acceptable by the business because it's not important to the business. Think about how you can be a good business partner and provide them with the applications and the…

Excellent in-line compressions; even API configurations are simple

What is our primary use case?

Our client uses this solution for insurance data. They need high-performance capacity for some specific applications. We are premier partners with Nimble and I am a solutions architect.

Pros and Cons

  • "Very good in-line compression."
  • "Lacking integration to the cloud."

What other advice do I have?

This is a good solution. Definitely from a price perspective it's quite expensive, but looking at the performance and the support system that we have with HPE Nimble, it's really good. I would recommend it. I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

A user-friendly solution combined with simple implementation

Pros and Cons

  • "Nimble DHCI is really user friendly and not complex"
  • "Sometimes the technical support would get back to us in two hours, but other times it would take them two or even three days to respond."

What other advice do I have?

Be sure that your end-users understand and know what they want regarding the ILPS. Sometimes the configuration that they have is not appropriate for their needs and could be more efficient. It all comes down to the needs, their RTS for example. As I have no other product to make a real comparison, I would give this solution a rating of nine out of ten.
