Excellent duplication, very good stability, and an easy setup

Pros and Cons

  • "The solution's most valuable feature is the duplication."
  • "When I configure the StoreEasy in a complex environment I have problems finding compatibility with all the software."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use the solution to design IP data centers. We are using this solution as a gateway from Fiber.

What is most valuable?

The solution's most valuable feature is the duplication.

What needs improvement?

They should make it easier to find features. Other features are difficult to find because it's a Windows server with very little customization.

The configuration tools need improvement.

When I configure the StoreEasy in a complex environment I have problems finding compatibility with all the software.

I've had some issues with StoreEasy in an environment where I have Linux. There were issues around connecting the user access. It doesn't seem to be compatible.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. We've never suffered from any bugs or glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I've never tried to scale the product. We have about ten people using the solution currently.

How are customer service and technical support?

Whenever we have a problem, we call HP technical support and they've been great. We're satisfied with the level of support they provide us.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It's fairly easy to configure simple environments. Deployment times depend on the client and the environment.

What about the implementation team?

HP assisted with the deployment of the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay for licensing every six months. You can also extend support if you need to.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We didn't evaluate any other options before implementing this solution.

What other advice do I have?

We're a StoreEasy partner. The solution is very good. I'd recommend it. It's very easy to use.

I'd rate it nine out of ten.

Easy to use, good reliability, and it includes a Windows license that makes it easier for Active Directory integration

Pros and Cons

  • "This solution allows me to better and more easily manage user data without impacting my primary storage."
  • "We need some monitoring tools and it would be helpful if they were included."

What is our primary use case?

We had some trouble with equipment in our NAS solution and we are evaluating HPE StoreEasy as a replacement. We have a capacity problem for our file servers because our user data is growing so much. Our goal is to keep the user data separate from the server data.

How has it helped my organization?

This solution allows me to better and more easily manage user data without impacting my primary storage.

What is most valuable?

This solution is convenient and easy for us to use.

It ships with a Windows license included and because we have Active Directory in our domain, it makes it easy for us to operate.

The reliability is good.

What needs improvement?

We need some monitoring tools and it would be helpful if they were included. I would like to have the ability to monitor the system at any point in time.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been testing HPE StoreEasy for the past 15 days.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a reliable solution.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment took about one week.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

This is an economical solution for the company and I am satisfied with the pricing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have compared the Dell EMC Isilon and I think that the HPE StoreEasy solution has some advantages over it.

What other advice do I have?

We have just started with HPE StoreEasy but I am looking forward to working with it. I am satisfied with the technical details and to me, it seems like one of the best solutions available.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
