Runs fast and without errors while being very stable

Pros and Cons

  • "The solution runs pretty fast."
  • "The solution requires a higher availability."

What other advice do I have?

We're currently using model CS5000 and we're on version 5.05.200. We are not yet on the cloud. We're on-premise. We installed it in our data center. In tests and features, they call it InfoSight. InfoSight collects logs and tries to send to the cloud. It's customizable, and it offers reports for you and any upgrade. It tries to give you information about your device. I'd recommend the solution. I'd rate it nine out of ten.

Good compression and performance, easy to expand, and the support is good

What is our primary use case?

We are a solution provider and all-flash storage is one of the products that we sell to our customers. Primera is one of the ones that we recommend for data centers.

Pros and Cons

  • "Our customers have given very positive feedback about InfoSign, which is the management software for this solution."
  • "This solution would be expensive for small business and it could be priced more competitively for that market."

What other advice do I have?

Overall, Primera is a good product and if it is suitable for the requirements then it is one that I recommend. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

A resilient solution with good stability, reliability, performance, and security

What is our primary use case?

I am not an end user. I present the solution to customers. I study a customer's infrastructure and suggest a product based on the customer's needs, such as latency or IOPS performance. I usually work with VSP F700 and F900 models.

Pros and Cons

  • "Its resilience is the most valuable."
  • "Hitachi should launch some small machines in Brazil. The smallest machine here in Brazil is VSP 350, which can be quite big for some of the customers. In China, Hitachi has small models of this equipment, but those models are not available in our region. Its pricing is a big issue for us. We are resellers, and we face some competition from other vendors. Hitachi doesn't always have a good position in terms of the price. Its user interface is also not as good as some of the other competitors, and it can be improved."

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform F Series an eight out of ten.

Stability is fine, but technical support is so poor that we are changing vendors

What is our primary use case?

We have a clustered network using an IBM 3650 for our server. Our environment is entirely in-house, and we are not currently running anything in the cloud. We are planning to migrate from our current system, as the equipment is getting old.

Pros and Cons

  • "Stability-wise, this solution is fine."
  • "This solution needs a management console where we are alerted to issues and can report them, or escalate them through email or another method."

What other advice do I have?

My advice to anybody who is considering this system is not to do it. I do not recommend it. It is a big no. The biggest complaint that I have about this solution is the support. It is important to have responsive support. We had a RAM issue, and the RAM is the heart of the server. I had to escalate the ticket and wait for thirty days. During that time, my server was totally down, which caused our productivity to suffer. It was a big disaster. The hardware may be good, but I cannot rate this solution very high because of the support. I would rate this solution a five out of ten.
