The solution needs to improve the compression side of their application.

Also, they don't offer any virtual machine-based features, which Unity has built-in. But I haven't seen it in OceanStor.

In fact, the Recovery Point is not required in Dell EMC Unity if you are using a native VMware application with Unity. But here in OceanStor, we need the site Recovery Manager, SRM. So, SRM is required when we are using the OceanStor. That DR capability has not been built in OceanStor as yet.

The main concern is regarding the usability of the data storage. It would be beneficial if they would enhance the option to utilize the remaining space if it's left.

In the future release, Huawei OceanStor should improve on what they already have. It is a good solution.

I would like to improve certain things in Huawei OceanStor. Unfortunately, due to the US ban on Chinese technologies, Huawei is unable to develop plugins or cooperate with vendors like Veeam and VMware. This is causing customers to miss out on certain features, but it's currently impossible to improve.

In the next release, I would like to see more integration features with different platforms. Due to restrictions imposed by the US government, Huawei is currently unable to develop plugins for OceanStor support.

The duration of the built-in snapshot technology must be improved. We must be able to keep the snapshots for a specific time period.

The overall price of the solution should be reduced.

We need help with the solution's storage capacity. They could provide more disk space.

We would like the solution to provide better documentation. It needs to be more transparent so that we can figure out how to troubleshoot.

The security could be a bit more robust.

The solution's data replication features work slowly for nodes. They should improve this particular area. 

The energy could be better. I would like to see the next generation all-flash, which could be combined.

The interface needs improvement. You have a standardized fiber channel from the past and you have to order a 10 gig interface separately. It would be better to have it all. Huawei has it all in its portfolio, so it can easily be built. They don't have to purchase it, it can be built by themselves.

The tool's performance is slow for DBs. We plan to move from Huawei OceanStor to Pure Storage. Its customer service is not good. 

The product must improve the local technical support in China.

I would prefer if the diagnostics of our Huawei solutions in the data center are automatically shared with the manufacturer. This will enable them to proactively address concerns before they become serious, and reach out to us without the need for us to initiate a call.

The speed has room for improvement.

Huawei OceanStor should work on its saturation level and should be able to take up more load. It should give the same performance that it gives at 20 or 30 percent load for 80 percent as well. 

OceanStor could use improvement with configuration and synchronizing with other vendors. There is some latency in the migration due to the amount of data. 

I would like to see more iterations and direct integration with solutions like Docker and Kubernetes. Also, if the customer needs to make a special solution or have an additional process for analyzing data directly on the storage using data technology, they should be able to do that.

The solution could improve by having better integration.

There are some small things in the solution that can be improved. Supporting software is one of them and the integration with mainstream solution technologies could be better. They are small issues and generally the technology functions well. It's not an issue caused by the vendor but rather due to external circumstances and the cessation of cooperation between Chinese and US companies. 

I cannot recall coming across areas that need specific improvements. 

Technical support could be more helpful.

I'd like to see some cloning or snapshot functionality in the near future. 

I'd like to see a more stable, lighter Metro and better logging system for issues and resolution in the future. 

The upgrading process needs improvement. Deploy it and notify the customers when new versions and stuff comes out. I don't think they're doing that well.

In the next release, they should have encryption. Compliance is a very big thing in security. If we got encryption in the boxes, clients would be satisfied. We'd also like to see deduplication, compression, and NVMe capabilities. 

Unfortunately, this product doesn't support Flash Disks, but it's IOPS capacity is a great compromise.

CFS integration is one area where OceanStor has some room for improvement. The CFS on OceanStor is dedicated, so it's not integrated with the existing active directory domain. That's a big issue with this service. Huawei could also improve the power unit on this storage solution. When we conducted some tests, we noticed that the autonomy for the BBU is not really long. Within 15 minutes, it totally went down. OceanStor is out of support and off the market, so Huawei is moving now to Dorado.

Also, the interface is in Chinese in some places. It would be helpful if they could release some versions without Chinese.

The administration should be simplified because there are a large number of options that make it too complicated, and the customers can get confused. The V6 has already been improved and is much simpler, but the V3 is not.

We experienced a little latency with this solution.

The management is not a good feature in all of Huawei products. It's not easy or simple. Huawei has some problems with management and handling storage information from one interface.

Technical support needs improvement. It would be helpful if there was more support in my country. I'm from Poland and there's no big Huawei support here. We are a country and we have only two technical people from Huawei. Sometimes it's not enough.

The GUI is the only thing I would like to see improved, and the user interface is not so user friendly.
