IBM Datacap Previous Solutions

I've had experience with Pilot, Nineteen, and OpenText.

In this particular project, I believe, that as a System Integrator, I might need to utilize various solutions from different vendors to address specific situations. I'm not exclusively committed to a single solution. However, in the project I'm currently involved with, especially since it involves a machine learning component, DataCap appears to be a more robust and feature-rich option compared to Avtec. So, in this context, I would opt for DataCap. If the circumstances are distinct, I might suggest OpenText in an alternate scenario. My decision isn't solely mine to make. I need to engage in discussions with the customer and the technical team to determine the most appropriate course of action.

I previously worked with content management solutions, however, I didn't deal with scanning products. Now, I'm working on Datacap. I didn't have much chance to work on Captiva or Kofax as I was working on multiple projects as the final developer.

We used Kofax long before Datacap. I believe the last time was 2007. I prefer it because the configuration is straightforward, and the backend is also good.

We were using a competitor product called Kofax. We tried out Datacap because IBM came to us with the promise that they've got the Trade Finance Accelerator plugin. This plugin was specifically for our use case because we needed to do compliance checks and sanctions checks. That was something that Kofax did not have. So, we basically gave it a try. We wanted to see if we can revolve our business process around Datacap instead of Kofax. This plugin was very attractive for our management, and that's how they got in.

Kofax is one of the other competitor solutions that I have used in a project. I think most users prefer Kofax over IBM Datacap. The cost of Kofax is economical, and the efficiency is more than this solution, which is why most users don't prefer IBM Datacap. IBM products are very expensive in the market.

I've had experience with several other product like Abby fine reader, Kofax Capture (formerly Ascent Capture) and OpenText Intelligent Capture (formerly Captiva)

We were not using anything previously. This was something from our innovation stream. It was a new experiment that we wanted to test.
