What do you think of MySQL?

Primary Use Case I use MySQL for employee service in an OLTP database. • Valuable Features I use MySQL for various purposes. Sometimes I have used MyISAM as a storage engine rather than InnoDB. • Room for Improvement When working with a cluster wide, I have to use the MySQL cluster version. • Use of Solution One to three years. • Previous Solutions The 5.7 version has very better performance improvement over the previous version.

What do you think of Oracle Database?

Valuable Features The most valuable feature is the database core in general, of course. • Improvements to My Organization A good DB favors a good solution and also a stable one, so less manpower is spent on buggy maintenance. • Room for Improvement Let us say that Enterprise Manager (Web admin) is an area with room for improvement. I have seen it stop working many times. They say it is improved in Enterprise Manager 13 (released with DB 12c R2). • Use of Solution I have used it since 1999. • Deployment Issues It is almost always a perfect install; some small issues here and there; mostly few small pre-configs to be done right before install. • Stability Issues So far, I have never encountered any stability issues. • Scalability Issues We have not seen any...
