IBM Security Guardium Data Protection Other Solutions Considered
I have personally not evaluated other options. My predecessor had evaluated quite a few options.
View full review »We didn't evaluate other solutions before using IBM Guardium Data Protection because we purchased an IBM package of three SIEM solutions: IBM QRadar, IBM Resilient, and IBM Guardium Data Protection.

There are other solutions like Imperva, but there are no service providers in Pakistan. We need local support as we need multiple deployments.

We did evaluate other vendors. Guardium was a large purchase. We did our due diligence as we were responsible for the purchase process. Guardium won mostly because of our scope and scale. It was able to perform at the scale that we wanted to use it.

Only Guardium.
View full review »In the current environment that I'm working in, I did not evaluate other products. However, in the past, I have had to utilize other products. don't recall what it was exactly, though. The other solution was from McAfee.
In terms of the ease of access and ease of deployment, IBM Guardium was much easier to deploy. However, in terms of maturity, then definitely that the other product that I used in the past was more mature than the IBM Guardium Products.

We initially looked at Oracle's own products, but we had legacy databases so we didn't really have many options. We had old flavors of Oracle in place.
We haven't chosen this product.
View full review »I don't know. They went through the RFP process and selected the tool, and then I got involved, and then I hopped back out.

Oracle Vault, Guardium, and Imperva are the three main solutions that clients consider. Easy deployment and good compatibility with all the solutions that customers have gives Guardium an advantage over other solutions.
View full review »It's pretty good. We have the latest version, so we are able to scale.

We just talked to IBM. If we have a problem, maybe they can offer us something new, new features, etc.

I have experience with Oracle Audit Vault and Imperva SecureSphere Database Security, which are the two main competitors. If you compare Guardium with Audit Vault, the main differences are in the deployment model, how they work, and the focus of each product with regard to monitoring. Audit Vault has a different deployment method. Imperva is more similar to Guardium.

The main competitor in the market is Imperva. They were originally not allowed in the Kingdom because of their country of origin, but they now have a local Saudi team. Some customers were approached by Imperva and did not know of Guardium, and simply went with that solution.
There is also a phenomenon in the market that is quite common when a new technology comes from the outside. Even if people don't have the full picture or details about the existing one, they feel that it is "old". Everybody has it, and they need something new. Because of this, we see a lot of people making the choice to go with Imperva.
View full review »Besides native database auditing, which is very resource intensive, and homegrown tools, there are not a lot of options out there. The closest competitor is Imperva. Imperva is a close second. We chose Guardium over Imperva based on the ability for greater custom reporting, more platform support, and better integration with other IT tools.
View full review »We evaluated a couple of other options.
I would not like to discuss this much as it affects the other companies' image and integrity. The competitive products have their own good and bad.
View full review »We did evaluate others, but I couldn't tell you what they were because that was a couple of years ago.
View full review »Before choosing this product, I did not evaluate other options. We implement exclusively IBM products.
View full review »We went in and tested it. We continually test everything that is in the industry. Guardium has significantly gone past the mark of acceptable every single time, as compared to their other competitors.
View full review »I did not evaluate other options. I am an IBM partner.

View full review »I don’t know because I am new in this company. I don’t know the history.
