For small companies, First of all, there are a lot of free products that could be used for integration. It can use the cloud or new implementation in the past.

But if the tool is IBM, the official box in your company, you can make your submission and also publish the cloud to the work file.

But let’s say, if you are working with premises, then you have to buy a reasonable main full support and gain experience with your product.

IBM Integration Bus is expensive. There are cheaper products in the marketplace.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give the pricing a two.

What I understand from the finance team is that IBM is expensive. Besides, the real cost is not in the license. It's in the deployment because of the skills input.

The pricing is pretty good. We've noticed that it's quite reasonable, whereas, for example, solutions like MuleSoft are rising. Salesforce recently acquired MuleSoft and has grown its market share, however, the pricing is turning people off. IBM is much more reasonable.

Installation of the base product has been simplified over the last five years or so, and is now fairly straight forward.

You need an infrastructure design for the product deployment and an integration architecture and design documented and agreed to get the best from this software. It is relatively easy to program (Extended SQL, Java, and other options are available), however, it's important to think and take advice before you start.

The product is generally priced per processor core.

The price of the IBM Integration Bus is expensive. If you compare the price to the cloud version you can purchase what you need but the on-premise version price is flat.

IBM Integration Bus solution is expensive and this is one of the reasons we are looking for an alternative, such as MuleSoft.

There are some additional pieces of software we need to purchase to do certain kinds of integrations, this should be included and we should not have to pay extra.

The licensing model of IBM Integration Bus is good. It's a yearly subscription. However, the price is depending on the model that you choose. If it's a Cloud version, then you can pay per month or you can pay it annually upfront. There are three-year options available, but it depends on what deployment you have.

As more people are moving operations toward the Cloud. The Clouds are offering subscriptions. They will charge you based on what they're processing. Whereas the on-premise version, the vendors offer a perpetual license. It doesn't have those limitations that the subscriptions models have for the number of transactions. What most of the vendors are doing is they will more or less charge you for a small, medium, or large package based on the number of transactions and they will bill your account.

  1. The IIB setup is still very command-based. The implementation is not so easy.
  2. It still needs a lot of environment and OS-related tweaking.
  3. Pricing is on par with its competition.
