HCL Domino Pricing

Owner at Prodej a Správa Nemovitostí s.r.o.
The pricing is subjective and contingent on the intended usage. I find it acceptable, and while a lower cost would be preferable, I'm content with the current pricing. It is worth noting that as a small company, my perspective might differ from that of larger enterprises, where pricing considerations could be influenced by factors such as the number of users. I would rate it six out of ten.
My company's customers need to make monthly or yearly payments towards the license charges of the product.

We find the price to be quite reasonable. It's not overly expensive.

While I don't have precise pricing information at hand, my understanding is that it tends to be on the higher end. Generally speaking, it's considered more costly compared to Exchange. The pricing structure is better suited for large enterprises rather than medium and small businesses.

View full review »HCL Domino has reasonable pricing. It's not expensive. If you compare its price with Exchange, they have the same product pricing. They are within the same range in terms of pricing, but Microsoft played it another way.
Microsoft went to the customers and told them: "We can offer you ELA for a price agreement, and you can get Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Dynamics for free," so the customers made the decision of reducing their investment in HCL Domino, for them to get Exchange for free. This is the reason why customers are willing to migrate from HCL Domino to Exchange, plus there's also more customer familiarity from Exchange than HCL Domino.

The licensing of Domino is expensive. One user license is $100. Compared to SharePoint, which is free when you buy the server, Domino is a lot.

Our license is on a yearly subscription. You can sign a contract with HCL that will cover up to 100 users. This also includes technical support and all of the latest software updates.
We're happy with the price of our license — it's pretty standard.

Customers have to pay for a license for the Notes Client, not for the Domino database. There is a quarter license that we use.

The price is reasonable compared to the other solutions.
View full review »IBM charges heavy for a yearly subscription and AMC cost increase year-on-year is not a fixed percentage of AMC, due to which, after 2-4 years, you may find that you are paying more than the purchase cost, without much functionality added. The ROI not justifiable. IBM Lotus is good but there is other, better software available with much better pricing, and value-added functionality and features. IBM should rethink the AMC subscription, which is huge compared to the competitors.
