The implementation was very tough. We had to be experts. We had to create a database, then a server, and install probes and a gateway. There were many components. We had to run four to five processes for every component.

The deployment can be done in two to three days if all the prerequisites are fulfilled. We need one or two engineers. The solution is easy to maintain because it provides excellent vendor support. Integrating NetCool with other IT management tools was quite smooth and easy. The product provides different plug-ins for different enterprise tools.

There's no setup, as such. We use a web link and it's very easy. We had a very long brainstorming collaborative workshop with IBM to make an algorithm for correlation of transformation network. It involved very specific customization and we're now working on enhancements. It can integrate with many different tools.

The initial setup is complex, and deployment takes about three months. I would rate the ease of the setup process as two out of five.

The initial setup was very easy. All of the documents and everything is there. There is a lot of documentation available. The technical team is able to do the installation based on the documentation that is available. It's easy to learn. The commands are also easy to learn.

For an experienced person, the initial setup is easy. Without experience is it complex.

The recent upgrade that was deployed was complex. Deployment takes approximately two weeks, depending on the environment.

The initial setup is a little complex. I wouldn't consider it straightforward.

I'm not sure how long deployment takes.

We have some Tivoli specialists that manage the Tivoli solution. My experience is on the Cisco networking side, and since I don't normally work with the solution, I'm not sure if I can provide too much detail on implementation.

The basic installation is moderately complex, but all the further customization and integration that you need to do to make it fit your needs is very complex. It is not a product that somebody could easily pick up without any prior training or experience.

We didn't find the initial setup to be straightforward. It was rather complex, in fact. The documentation was just not that good and it made the process challenging.

The deployment process took a year. It wasn't too fast.

We have two engineers that assist in the maintenance of the solution currently.
