Infor dEPM Other Advice

I give the solution an eight out of ten.

I recommend the Infor dEPM system to others as it is a robust solution that runs smoothly for our clients.

Three individuals within our organization are in charge of managing the solution. Nevertheless, we have numerous clients who utilize the solution in their respective organizations.

Overall, I would rate Infor dEPM an eight on a scale from one to ten. It has improved significantly, especially with version twelve. It used to be a perfect ten, but now it stands at a solid eight, which is still quite good.

It's hard to change solutions, especially after 20 years. For example, we have lots of reports, and regulatory reports which are all linked with these Excel forms. That's 20 years of reports. As authorities don't change that quickly, these are steady reports. If we change the solution, we have to go through all the reports and change the figure. It's additional work without lots of improvement. However, the reason why I was looking at a different solution was that the version we use, we can only have a 32-bit version of Excel integrated. The company now wants to move to Office 365, which is a 64-bit solution. Then, even with Infor, we have to change all the formulas as they are not compatible anymore.

I'd rate the solution six out of ten.

I would recommend Infor dEPM and advice you to work with a trained partner. Don't try to go it alone and get lost.

Overall, I would rate Infor dEPM at nine out of ten. It's a very good solution.

For planning and consolidation this is a perfect choice. You have the option to design your own logic via dimensions, cubes, rules and dimension hierarchies. And, you can lock down user input via pre-designed ad-hoc reports that are visible via thin/fat client. Power users can get access to data via an Excel add-in.

Ensure you give the relevant thought to the initial design process and use the opportunity to re-evaluate the way you report.

Ensure you have clearly scoped your business requirements before implementing this or any other finance system. If SunSystems is the financial system of choice then Infor PM Q&A simply must be included as part of the solution due to the reporting functionality it provides. If Budgeting is a key element of your business the Infor PM Budgeting & Forecasting solution is also worth considering.

Compromises are key. Remember that it is a budgeting and forecasting tool, so you can't have a complex model that is simple to use, easy to maintain and fast all at the same time.

They have inexpensive licenses, but it costs much more to implement and maintain. It has a very small community, a lack of available, resources, and we struggled to find support.

Hope this will help others to think more before going for a BI system.

This is a perfect, secure, safe and fast product. The great thing about it is that it has a multiple user interface and the ad-hoc reporting is amazing.

Dedicate time to the Functional and Technical Specs, given the low flexibility to change the model once it has been implemented.
