Informatica Data Integration Hub Other Advice

Working with a healthcare client with diverse locations, we faced the challenge of analyzing data in isolation, making it difficult to generalize findings across different areas. With the help of Informatica Data Integration Hub, we can collect data from various locations and enhance business insights.

We are familiar with centralized publishing and subscription models. It ensures the enforcement of data governance policies across all data sources and consumers, promoting data consistency and quality.

The automated artificial data synchronization facilitated by the data integration hub has proven invaluable in supporting our daily operations. It ensures the continuous updating of data, preventing delays and inaccuracies that may arise from using outdated information in analyses. This capability became particularly crucial during the sudden changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing us to adapt swiftly to the evolving business landscape. However, they could provide us with real-time data to increase the efficiency of manufacturing processes.

I advise others to understand the different data resources available in the organization before making the purchase decision. I rate it an eight out of ten.

We use the on-premises version of the solution.

I would recommend the product, but it depends on your business and other solutions you might already be using. If you're only using SAP, I don't think you'll need Informatica. If you're using Oracle products, you don't even need SAP.

However, if you're looking for an essential repository with very good integration capabilities, want to have a longterm sustainable solution, and you have multiple ESPs, as well as a wider organization setup, then I think Informatica is the best.

I would rate the solution at eight or nine out of ten.

Presently, everything is moving to the cloud, and moreover, many people are moving to Snowflake Data Warehouse, as it provides more scalability. I feel the usage of DIH is very limited compared to Snowflake because Snowflake holds and stores highly compressed data and allows you to use different cloud-based tools, including AWS services, DCP, and other services. Snowflake also comes with Matillion, which is a very good ETL tool.

The use of DIH is very limited. Anything that we do with DIH, can be done with Snowflake, regardless of the subscription you may have. There are plenty of use cases — you can use it to build tables and consume it from the downstream. For these reasons, I believe that DIH is currently not doing as well as Snowflake in the market.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of seven. Performance-wise, it could be better. The performance-related Issues could be due to low infrastructure, but for whatever reason, sometimes the performance is slow.
