JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Previous Solutions
I used to use JD Edwards World. I stopped using it in 2015. Once Oracle took it over, the support stopped being very good.
I'm also familiar with SAP.

View full review »I've worked on NetSuite, and I've worked on Oracle E-Business. This product is way ahead of its time in terms of features. It's just that it's a mid-tier product that's not recognized a lot. As compared to NetSuite and Oracle E-Business, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is highly customizable, especially in a manufacturing environment.

We used an internal system on the IBM platform before moving to JD Edwards Enterprise One 25 years ago. JD Edward Enterprise One has a lot of functionalities, but they are costly. So we have developed in-house systems to take care of them. For example, we have our time and attendance systems outside JD Edward Enterprise One. We also have our procurement, which liaises with our suppliers and vendors outside JD Edward Enterprise One because we cannot afford to manage everything from JD Edward Enterprise One. The fundamental functionalities are on the solution, but for any extra features and self-service workflow, we handle it outside of JD Edward Enterprise One.

I used a product from Oracle as a CRM tool, but I haven't used any other ERP. I've only been using JD Edwards.

In my previous organization, I used Tally. JD Edwards is a much more vast and better tool when compared to Tally. The best part about JD Edwards is that it is an integrated system. All the modules are interrelated. The transactions are interfaced with the finance system, which serves as a reporting mechanism.
If a client asks us to create a new report, our developer takes more time to create the report. If there were any tools available within JD Edwards, it could have helped the developer to code faster.

Our price range is very competitive, and JD EdwardsOne is easy to use. Additionally, the new user interface is user-friendly.

Global Oracle JDE Practice Head at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees
I am an engineer for the last 18 years and I have not seen any other solution from the market that is better. I have seen some comparable solutions, that might be on par with the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. However, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is being rated as the tier one ERP in the industry for SMBs.

I have a little bit of experience with similar products from several vendors, including Microsoft Dynamics and SAP. I have found that the user experience is much nicer within JD Edwards, compared to anything else that I have seen. It is not rigid and allows you to change or customize things within the framework that is provided.
NetSuite is a little bit cheaper than JD Edwards, although they are catering more to smaller enterprises rather than medium-sized organizations. They compromise certain functionality or applications. A lot of the applications out there are good for startups, but the moment that you start diversifying, you have to start looking either at add-ons or re-implementing different ERPs. The trend lately is not to just replace everything. Rather, have additional or complementary products that suit your needs
With JD Edwards, it is a fully integrated system so you can run just certain modules, but it's optimized if you use the full ERP system. For example, if you need procurement, work orders, and financials, then there is a benefit to moving everything into one system.
