Pros and Cons

  • "Jitterbit provides the ability to quickly map data between files and databases."
  • "Looping through complex data structures can be difficult."

What other advice do I have?

Make sure you understand the definition of “endpoint”. The product can become expensive if you are connecting to a large number. Take advantage of the free trial. You can easily get a simple interface up and running in that time frame to see how the tool works for you.

  • "I would like the ability to offer a dedicated cloud version for security."

What other advice do I have?

We mainly used the NetSuite, Salesforce, and Oracle integrations. Those all worked seamlessly. We did not look into all the other standard integrations they offer. You need to make sure they offer what you need.

  • "In the past few months, there have been some server downtimes during work hours that have affected some critical scheduled integrations."

What other advice do I have?

Most of the ETL tools can achieve the base function of data integration. When selecting a product, pick the one that is: * Easy to implement and manage * Cost effective * Able to scale * Able to get the job done You do not need the finest with all the bells and whistles. Just get the one that gets the job done.

Start simple and build on the complexity. If you need complex data cleansing, de-duping, denormalization, and/or normalization, then consider a tool such as CloverETL.

What other advice do I have?

If you are a developer, then you should have little to no problem implementing this product. However, if you are a beginning developer with little to no experience, it is possible that you will get through it. You will need to use all the resources that you have. These include technical support, the community, and of course, Googling it.
