Juniper MX Series Routers Previous Solutions

We also use MicroTik. We're also familiar with Cisco, Aruba, HP, and Ruckus.

Juniper is, definitely, in competition with Cisco. They are, I think, 30% to 40% cheaper. In comparison to HP routers, there is a 10% to 15% variable. If you are talking about Ruckus and Aruba, they're in the Wi-Fi segment. In the Wi-Fi segment, Ruckus and Aruba are the leaders. In the wiring router segment, Cisco and Juniper are the leaders. There is no competition apart from Cisco for Juniper in regard to enterprise routers.

I also tested Juniper vSRX solution in my lab for my LLD preparation. It's a good product for small and medium organizations. It's also suitable for customers who want to avoid lengthy procurement procedures and deploy solutions quickly within their budget and network.

I work with Juniper routers, MX, vMX, PCX, ACX, SRX, vSRX,SSL VPN products, and currently, the MX960, MIPT, and ECX. I deployed them for many service providers in Pakistan, replacing solutions from other vendors. Juniper excels in high-performance infrastructure and carrier-grade NAS solutions, making it ideal for service providers.

Juniper is quite good. I didn't notice any big difference, especially between Cisco series and Juniper MX. They are quite similar.

I have used Huawei and Cisco. I'm more comfortable with Juniper MX. It's a personal preference. People prefer Cisco, but from my point of view, Juniper is good because it's a robust, stable, and mature technology. Huawei is not 100% mature.

Compared with Cisco, I think that Juniper is better. If you want to make a rollback in Juniper, you can choose the date that you want to make a rollback.

Juniper is good, but they don't publish any information about the solution. Compared to Juniper, Cisco has too much information on the internet about its products.

In comparing Juniper with other vendors, especially competitors like Cisco, I prefer Juniper over Cisco. While I have experience with both, I find the command interface of Juniper more preferable, and I believe it offers better overall performance.

We switched from Cisco to Juniper's MX Series routers because of their innovative data and control plane separation. We had been using Cisco since 1999, but Juniper's approach caught our attention. In 2008, we considered different platforms, including Alcatel and Brocade. However, Juniper's competitive pricing and top-notch product quality made the decision easy. Moving to Juniper has been a great choice for our network team.

I've used Cisco routers as well. The price is a bit higher. We get higher capacity in Juniper for less cost.

I'm also familiar with MicroTik, which offers a better GUI than Juniper.

I work with FortiGate, Juniper, and Cisco. Fortigate may be a bit more flexible than Juniper. It does have a cloud sandbox we can use, for example.

Previously, we used ASA, Cisco ASA, and changed to Juniper, as it was really difficult and it is not as user-friendly. Juniper is more stable and easier.

Before using this solution we were previously using Cisco routers. We switched because we wanted 10G bandwidth from our provider. 10-G slots in Cisco were very, very expensive.
