Juniper EX Series Ethernet Switches Pricing
For the QFX5000 Juniper switches, the price is about $10,000, but they would probably sell it for $1,000. Nobody can beat Juniper's pricing when it comes to switches. Juniper out-prices everybody, but they get you on the back end, maintenance, service port, and service contract.
It's $3-5 million a year just in service contracts, support maintenance, and service agreements to support Juniper features for thousands of switches. I don't see a good ROI on Juniper because a lot of time is spent on troubleshooting. With Arista, you buy $50,000 switches, but they're stable. They're pretty solid when it comes to the code and hardware.
View full review »If compared to Cisco, this is a well priced solution. Compared to HP, it is a little bit overpriced. Overall, they are priced in the middle compared to competitors.

I can't speak to the exact pricing. It's based on the dollar and prices are fluctuating all of the time. My understanding is that it is moderately priced for the market.
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. It's pretty good. It's stable as well, however, with some functionalities and some terminologies, the standard is the same yet the terminology is different. For the EtherChannels, they have some different names. For the tunnel, they have some different names. If people are working with a Cisco-type environment, when they are switching from Cisco to Juniper, they feel pretty the command-line interface is pretty different.
It is a very expensive product. I rate the product price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price.
They offer a more competitive pricing structure compared to Cisco. They often come at around 20% lower cost than Cisco. However, in some regions, there might be even more budget-friendly options.

The exact price depends on the model, the software you are going to implement, and the features you want. In the case of Juniper, you can use its recommended vendors, SFPs, et cetera.

We have a partnership with Juniper and the price of the solution can be negotiated at a local or a corporate level with Juniper to meet our customer's needs.
There is a subscription payment model or you can purchase licenses on a one, two, and five-year basis. If you want decent support, the solution is not expensive.

The pricing of Juniper Ethernet Switches compared to equivalent switches from Aruba, Cisco, and others, Juniper Ethernet Switches are priced a little higher. They are approximately 20 to 50 percent higher. When we receive a new range of models, the prices can come down. The price can also vary by region.
I rate the price of Juniper Ethernet Switches a six out of ten.
If Juniper Ethernet Switches want to penetrate the market, they'll have to do something about their pricing. Cisco switches are more well-known and they are less expensive.

Juniper's switches have a lifetime warranty, so you don't have to pay for replacements for defective items (though you can't buy spare replacements). It's relatively affordable per switch and pretty similar to other vendors' costs for maintenance.

View full review »The pricing is very aggressive. The only disadvantage with Juniper is the modules are very expensive lately.
It could be cheaper, but they are always expensive.
If you want support with Juniper you will have to use Juniper modules, otherwise, you don't get the technical support.
For example, third-party modules can be integrated into Cisco, but with Juniper, if you want technical support directly, you can only use the Juniper modules. When tech support takes control, they will recognize whether it is a Juniper module or third-party modules.
Juniper switches come with either one year, three years, or five years of support.
When comparing, Cisco comes with five years.

View full review »The licensing part of the product is not very good. There is a need to make a payment towards the perpetual licensing model offered by the product and also towards the subscription-based model for hardware replacement. Compared to Cisco's pricing model, Juniper's price is low.
